Chapter 24
                          
Clap, clap, clap. 
                          
The sound echoed through the empty stone room. The sound bounced off the grey walls and only little of it was absorbed into the foam blue mats under their feet. Teya glanced down at her dirty toes and at her clothes. She'd been forced to endure this. The hard work had been laboured into her until she was muscle, bone and tissue. All this just so her mother could have decent meals and medicine to keep her alive for longer. 
                          
"Well done. I'm impressed. Your hand to hand combat skills are almost on par with Finn's." Anton eyes glinted from where he stood at the doorway. His intimidating posture made him look less old and made the white hairs less visible as if dyed on purpose. 
                          
Teya couldn't help but feel a bloom of pleasure rise inside of her and pride. She hadn't felt this in a long time. She risked sneaking a glance at Finn. His mouth had turned itself into a sneer before he stalked off, not before showing off his acrobatic skills. 
                          
This gave her a hope of courage. That'd she might finally beat Finn, to avenge her father. 
                          
"Come here. It's the last part of my story." Anton pulled out a foldable chair from the long line of them in the corner. He waved Teya over to a spot on the ground. Even now, he had to exert his superiority over her. 
                          
Teya frowned but sat down. Anton could still kill her with barely a movement, she couldn't make a wrong move. 
                          
"So let's start with my brother deciding to come back to Blue Dawn Pack. I thought everything was going fine. It was all perfect. Now I see how stupidly naïve I was. How life is so f**ked up sometimes. My brother was f**king mates with my girlfriend. She dumped me after that and that was that. I was forced to step off my alpha position until I found my mate. I didn't find her until much later on after going through many other girls. I really do regret that but..." Anton sighed and in that instant, it was as if Teya could see a glimpse of a normal human underneath his cruel exterior. A werewolf who had experienced loss and loneliness. 
 "I wandered around until I finally found my mate. A human... She was really pretty and kind but she was one of the most fragile creatures I've ever met." Anton's fists grabbed his shorts into tight lines. Why was this suddenly such a harsh topic? What had happened to Anton's mate? And why was he telling her of all people?
 "I asked my father to let me become alpha after I regained my composure. Only this time his excuse was that a human couldn't be a damn Luna. He told me to kill her!" His eyes that flashed a crimson colour showed his inner wolf stirring up. A cold feeling settled in the pit of my stomach. Anton didn't kill his mate did he?
 "I did end up killing her... after she gave birth to Finn and you know what's really f**ked up?" Anton gave a laugh with his head thrown back and his black hair out of his face and Teya could identify every little crease and curve of his face. He really did detest the werewolves and not only that, he was insane. How could he kill his own mate?!
 "What's the worst thing that could possibly happen after that? Well my father believed that you couldn't be an alpha if you didn't have a mate so either way, my destiny was f**ked up. I was never going to have the title I deserved so I decided to create my own pack. Unfortunately I'd been banned from my pack and rogues aren't legislated to form their own packs. This whole system is so bull**it! Everything is so unrighteous. That's why I'm doing this. To set things straight." Anton finally finished. His heavy breathing brought his chest up and down and sweat gleaned on the top of his brow. He seemed so passionate about this, it was like he wasn't a complete maniac after all. Or so Teya believed. However his ways were different, too horrendous that Teya couldn't muster enough sympathy for him. She still hated him. For what he did and would do. His actions were uncalled for, even if he thought they were for the right causes. He took a demon path. Something Teya was not going to support. She'd have to use her position and usurp him from behind the shadows.
