Chapter VII-Realisation

                                    

                                          
"Face?" Makarov parotted, as we all heard Natsu say the four letter word.
"Yeah, apparently there's this big bomb shaped like a face, that's gonna destroy all the magic in Fiore!" He continued.
"What? Why would they do that? Nobody would benefit from that at all!" Elfman exclaimed  angrily.
"Levy-chan. Do you know why?" Lucy asked the blue-haired genius, who was studying the tome again.
"Actually, I do. The enemies that are attacking the former Council members are actually demons, spawned by Zeref. Demons don't use magic; they use Curse power, so they could be getting rid of magic for supremacy over us" Levy explained.
'Then that technique Jackal used on me...that was Curse power?' I thought, remembering the moment.
The heat of the explosion...the pain...the power...
"Levy! Have we got anything that can counter Curse power?" I asked.
"Sure we have. We've got magic!" She smiled. Then her face fell..."Oh sorry about that Shinji..."
"Nah, don't worry about it"
                          
"Do you have any actual idea where the Face Bomb is, Natsu?" Makarov asked.
"Huh? No way!" He replied, grinning.
"Isn't that information sort of pointless without the whereabouts of the bomb?" Lucy figured.
"It doesn't matter" Warren interupted, from out of nowhere. "I can just get a message out to Doranbolt to go around and search for it" 
"Yeah, that could work" Gray agreed. "Needless to say we'll be going as well, right Master?" 
"Of course. Well, apart from you Shinji" Makarov added.
                          
To be honest, I was expecting this entirely. I mean, I was just going to slow everybody down if I went with them.
                          
"Yeah, that's fine by me" I acknowledged.
"Huh? Why are making Shinji stay at the guild?" Natsu asked.
"I'm pretty sure that speaks for itself" I said, rolling my eyes. "Anyways, what am I going to do whilst I'm here?"
I felt somebody put their hand on my shoulder.
"Training" came Mira's voice from behind me.
Something told me that this 'training' was going to be very painful...
                          
Makarov dismissed us all after that, so I just kicked back with Team Natsu for a while, enjoying my last few moments of relaxation before Mira's stressful training tomorrow.
"Shinji, you do realise that Mira's training is literally made by a demon? You're probably gonna die" Happy said, landing on top of my head.
"Yeah, I know. But I have to get strong for this guild and for Yukino" I replied, seriously.
"For Yukino?"
"For me?" She said blushing once again, going into a fluster.
"Yep. When Jackal turned up and almost killed us, I tried to step in and be the hero, but I barely escaped with my life...I don't want to have to put you through that again, so I'm going to get strong enough to protect this guild and you. I mean, I am your partner after all!"
It was quiet after I said.
"She liiiiikkkkesss him!" Happy shouted out all of a sudden, which genuiely scared the living daylights out of me.
"What the-?" I started, totally confused. 
Natsu started laughing and Yukino looked down at her feet, blushing profousely.
I just sighed at Happy's immatureness.
                          
I kicked back on my bed. Time to sleep, I was going to need my strength tomorrow.
'Finally...I'll be able to actually defend this guild and everybody in it' I thought, as I closed my eyes.
                          
I needed enough power to stop the Face Bomb...and I was gonna get it!
