Chapter 60

                                    

                                          
I listened to the sound of the waves as they crashed against the sand. It was a quiet Monday morning and Jack was out and about working on some shoot with his friends. I sipped on some coffee as I dug my toes into the cold sand and wrapped myself around my blanket. As my baby bump got bigger, it was getting harder and harder for me to come and sit out to just think and work on some art projects. Alina Baraz's "Down For You," suddenly was cut off as my phone began to buzz with a call. I look at the screen as I set my sketchbook down and furrowed my brows as an Unknown number appeared through my screen. I quickly swiped right before bringing my phone up to my ears. 
                          
"Hello?" I answered, it took a while before I heard noise on the other end of the call.
                          
"Lily?" I heard a familiar voice say my name and my eyes widened. 
                          
"J-Jesse?" My voice broke as I said his name. No way. 
                          
"Yes... Hi Lily..." He spoke and I just stared at the water in front of me.
                          
"Hi Jesse.." I said and went to grab my coffee, but my hands were shaking so bad I accidentally spilled it all over my sketchbook.
                          
"Fuck!" I cried as I quickly grabbed it and placed it away from the coffee. 
                          
"Are you okay?" Jesse asked and I closed my eyes. 
                          
"Yes Jesse i'm fine, how did you get my number?" I asked him as I stared at the ruined sketch in front of me.
                          
"That doesn't matter, I wanted to talk to you," he said and I rolled my eyes.
                          
"There's nothing to talk about Jesse, I told you to forget about m-" I began to say but he cut me off.
                          
"Lily... Lily I-I miss you so much baby," his voice cracked and I bit my lip.
                          
"Jesse-"
                          
"No, listen to me, there's not a single day I don't think about you, I crave you Lily, I have pictures of our shoots printed all over my office and every time I see them I want to fucking go back and fix whatever happened between us," Jesse said and I shook my head.
                          
"There's nothing to fix Jesse, there's nothing between you and I, if there was something, it's gone, I'm happy now, so please respect that," I said as I threw my stuff into my bag and slowly got up. 
                          
"I'm going to prove to you that there's something still left between us Lily, you will be mine again, I promise you that," He spoke with such anger, I felt goosebumps rise all over my body.
                          
"Jesse-" I went to say but the line was dead. I stared at my phone screen as I looked around the beach and felt the world slowly begin to tilt sideways. 
                          
"Oh my god," I stumbled forwards and lost balance, feeling excruciating pain run all over my body. I gasped as I clutched onto my stomach and let out a scream of complete pain. I looked around and the beach was completely deserted. 
                          
"Help.... somebody...." I cried and saw my phone laying on the sand a couple of feet away from me. I slowly moved towards it as tears escaped my eyes and reached out my arm before finally getting a hold of it. I quickly dialed Jack's number and waited for him to answer as I twisted in pain. 
                          
"Hi babyg-"
                          
"J-Jack..." I whispered as I felt the air slowly being sucked out of me.
                          
"Lily? Are you okay?" Jack sounded concerned as the clouds above me began to get blurrier.
                          
"I-i'm.. I'm at the beach...." I spoke before I let out a whimper as the pain got stronger.
                          
"Lily?!? Lily what's wrong? What beach are you at?" Jack began to panic.
                          
"Our b-beach, J-Jack.. the baby.." I cried as I saw the sand in front of me turn red and I screamed again.
                          
"LILY?! LILY I'M COMING, LILY STAY ON THE PHONE WITH ME BABY," Jack cried as I heard him yell at someone to dial 911 and I looked up at the sky again.
                          
"Jack... Jack baby Logan..." I whispered as my lips trembled.
                          
"Shh shh baby i'm on my way okay? Just stay on the line with me, oh my god he's coming," Jack's voice rose and I tears continued to escape my eyes.
                          
"Jack.. baby Logan... there's a lot of blood.." I cried and the other end of the call went silent.
                          
"Blood? Lily what's wrong?!" Jack panicked again and I began to breathe heavier.
                          
"Baby Logan... Save him..." I mumbled as the sky became a blue blur and soon all I heard was muffled screaming coming from somewhere as my eyes slowly shut.
