Nova's POV:

"He's looking at you!" Valerie said. Nova rolled her eyes. Bo wasn't just looking at her, and she knew that. She was already cold and the game hadn't even started. Danni and Valerie wouldn't let her bring her favorite coat because it would "clash with her outfit".  Nova honestly didn't care about her outfit. She wasn't trying to impress anyone at the game tonight. "I'm gonna go get something to drink" Valerie told them. Nova wanted to follow her and get one, but her and Danni refused to let her eat or drink anything. Even if someone noticed her, she'd be too cranky to talk to anyone. "I'm ready for this stupid game to be over with so I can go home and wipe all this crap off!" Nova complained. Valerie hadn't came back yet, and Nova was getting impatient for the game to start. "You still have 30 minutes to go." Danni told her.

It had been twenty minutes and Valerie still hadn't came back from getting a drink, and Nova was getting more impatient. The game was going to start soon. Bo hadn't looked back up at the stands, and that was probably because he was too busy talking to Valerie. "What the hell!" She screamed. Danni turned around from her old friends she was catching up to and looked down and saw what Nova saw. "Relax Nova. She's talking about you." She told her. What? Why were they talking about me she thought. Valerie knew she hated unwanted attention on her. She walked down to meet Valerie, and the team started lining up to head back inside. Bo and Valerie said their goodbyes, and he looked at Nova and gave her his heart-stopping smile. Oh my. Everyone watched as they ran back to the locker room, and Nova could tell it was going to be a long night.

Ten minutes later the game finally started at 7:30. Norman had shown up later than they should've, so they were suffering badly and it was only the beginning of the first quarter. For once Taylor's offense was united and when Norman got the ball, the defense was strong enough keep them punting every time. Valerie and Nova stood close to the field whereas Danni was getting to know some random from Norman. "What were you and Bo talking about before the game?" Nova asked. "You and his breakup. Mainly you." Valerie said. Nova couldn't care less about his break up with Bailey who didn't seem to be too torn apart because she was all over Jason before the game started. "What were y'all saying about me?" Nova said. Valerie laughed and rolled her eyes at her friend. "Just make sure you stick around a little after the game is over." Valerie said. Nova stared at Valerie. "If you don't tell me why I'm hanging around after this stupid game, I'm going home." She said. As soon as the words left her mouth Valerie turned and faced her saying "Nova Bethany Sparks you will not do that. It's important to Bo freaking Smith that you stay so you're going to stay!" Valerie yelled. Half of the team turned around when they heard their teammates name. The look Valerie gave all of them made them all turn back around and pay attention to the game.

Bo's POV:
The game was going in their favor for the first time in weeks. By now they'd he playing catch up to the other team, but they were running Norman into the ground. He could see a pleased smile on his coaches face, but he could tell he was thinking that the team better not get cocky now. The second quarter had ended, and the team began to move to the locker room. He didn't realize he was looking for Nova until she was on the side of the pavement pulling him aside. "I'll wait for you after the game. You're doing good. Keep up the good work. You gotta go. Bye!" She said. "I barely got half of that but thanks" He told her laughing.
Once got to the locker room the coach began his speech. "You boys are doing good out there, keep it up. Norman is a good team, and we don't need to get cocky now. We've got two more quarters to go and I know if we stay focused, we can win this. Now let's go out there and get this win!" He told them. Bo realized how much he was going to miss this when the season was over. He was going to miss the smallness of high school football, and seeing familiar faces in the crowd watching them play. He couldn't walk down memory lane now, it was game time.

"AND QUARTERBACK JASON SMALLS CONNECTS WITH BO SMITH FOR THE TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!" The announcer called. We won. We beat Norman. The crowd was going crazy, and the team was too. He saw Nova's burgundy hair and ran to her. Without thinking he picked her up and spun her around. "Bo!! You're covered in sweat!" She squealed. Before she could stop him, he bent down and kissed her. He pulled back and said "Stop overthinking it". Nova nodded and quickly kissed him back. The whole crowd was watching them now, even the team and the cheerleaders. "Hell yeah Bo! That's the spirit!" One of his teammates called. Bo pulled back again pressing his forehead to hers. "Don't leave okay?" He told her. Nova nodded. Bo walked back to the rest of the team in a daze. He could've just killed all of the progress they'd made today by kissing her just now. What was he thinking? He hadn't even known he liked her enough to kiss her. The whole team, including the coaches, looked between him and Bailey as if they were expecting an explanation. "Y'all know we broke up. She's dating Jason." He told them. "Yeah and you're kissing random juniors on the sidelines." Tanya said. She was clearly a supporter of their dead relationship. "Tanya shut up. Bo and I broke up for a reason, which doesn't concern you guys so let Coach Thomas speak, so we can all go home." Bailey snapped. He nodded in gratitude towards her.

After Coach Thomas was done talking he ran to the sidelines to find his girl. His girl? This was a girl barely said anything to him before, and he was always running after her. He got there and she was gone. Just like that. He slowly walked up to the locker room. Bo was ready to change and go home. Is it always going to be like this with her? He asked himself that over and over as he made the walk up. "And quarterback Jason Smalls connects with Bo Smith for the touchdown! And the crowd goes wild!!" He heard someone say. He turned around, and Nova walked out of the shadows. She didn't leave after all. "How long have you been practicing that?" He asked laughing. He pulled her in close and let his hands fall around her waist. "Since I came up here to hid from all the people while waiting for you." She told him. Nova tried to walk out of his hold but he just tightened his grip on her. "You should snap me." He told her. "I will if you let me go. Danni's waiting for me." She said. "If you don't I'm gonna tell Valerie." He threatened as he let her go. Nova laughed and said "Oh I'm terrified Bo. But I got you." He kissed her on the cheek and said quietly "I better."
He watched her walk to Danni's truck before going inside to change. Bo was now really determined to get to know Nova Sparks. He needed to.
