Ariela POV
~At Mall~
The ride to the mall was less awkward than I thought it would be. Marcus knows how to hold a conversation.
My brother and father been blowing up my phone like crazy. I just shut it off cause no one is trying to hear a speech.
The first store we went in to was Champs. I'm just walking around until I spot the Grape 11s. I just had to get them.
I went into my bag to get my card but it wasn't even there. I don't know how I forgot my whole card at home, I never do this.
I was about to just walk away from them when Marcus came up and grabbed my arm. This nigga must be crazy.
"Why are you not getting the shoes lil mama?"
"I just forgot my card. It's aight though." I shrugged.
He went into his pocket and gave me his black card. Is he crazy? He barely even knows me and he's giving me his card to use.
"Chill man. I'm not trying to owe you anything. I have cash."
"I was going to get the sneakers also anyways. Paying for you isn't that serious." He said. It obviously wasn't a big deal to him so I guess it should be to me.
I gave him a side hug and then I asked an employee to get my size in the sneakers.
"Thank you Mar-" Before I could finish talking Matthew walked into the store. I instantly got stiff and Marcus noticed
Me and Matthew have a past that I don't like at all and every time I get around him I'm just uncomfortable. Obviously my dad and brother don't know about what we ever had, if it was even something.
"Wassup ma, you aight?" I don't even know Marcus enough to tell him my business.
"I am good." I said. "Can we leave now?"
"What about your shoes?" He asked. I need to find a lie and quick.
" I don't have anything to go with them. I need to get an outfit first." I lied through my teeth.
"You don't have to lie. Just say wassup then it's cool." he said.
"It's nothing. I'm cool." I said. Can we leave now. Like damn.
"Ok so there is no reason for you not to get your shoes. Get them and whatever else and then we can bounce." He said making it plain and simple. I looked at him walk away from me and shook my head.
As I walked around I got a couple of Jordan's and a pair of Nike Free runs.
After Marcus bought everything we headed out the store. Dayja and Jordan were still talking but we're touchy feely. It's cute.
As we were leaving Matthew dragged me to the side by my arm.
"So we doing it like that now Ariela? You walking around with fuck niggas? Come on, you can do better." He said. I rolled my eyes and folded my arms.
"Do you need something? If not, can I go?" I replied nonchalantly. I can tell that, that irked him. He got closer to my face with a mug plastered on it.
"Is there a problem?" Marcus came over to us. I sighed and tapped my foot.
"Naw I was just finishing." Matthew said then walked away.
"What a bitch." I mumbled under my breath. I heard a chuckle and looked at Marcus smiling.
"We gotta bounce doe. Me and Jordan got some business to handle." He said as we walked out the store.
