"Hey," Sam says and leads me to a chair, "easy there. Go ahead and sit down, here's your coffee."
                          
"Sam makes the best coffee," Kristy comments, sitting next to me.
                          
Castiel stands behind her, one hand on the back of her chair. I look at them carefully before speaking.
                          
"Are you two human?" I ask.
                          
Kristy looks surprised but shakes her head.
                          
"No. Castiel is an angel. Of the Lord."
                          
My eyes immediately go to him. He shifts slightly, his gaze cool and unconcerned.
                          
"What about you?" I ask Kristy after digesting this.
                          
"I'm, uh, sort of a mix...I'm half angel and half demon, but I was raised as a human."
                          
I lean away from her slightly.
                          
"So your half evil," I state rudely.
                          
I knew she was too good to be true. I guess the real question is if Sam is attracted to hybrids.
                          
"Not quite. I still have a conscience, and I'm still half angel. So really I have the powers of a demon, but not all the evil baggage."
                          
"That's convenient."
                          
She shrugs.
                          
"I'm kind of insane if that makes you feel better. I died...three times."
                          
"Seriously?!" I ask in amazement.
                          
She nods with a grimace. Well my mind is once again blown.
                          
"So monsters are real..."
                          
"And we hunt them. Plain and simple," Dean says.
                          
"You hunt them? That's what you were doing in the forest?" I ask.
                          
Both Sam and Dean nod.
                          
"Actually," Kristy says raising her hand, "I want to know why a demon tried to kill you. If he didn't know he was being hunted, than he was planning on taking his time...which leads me to believe that you
                          
a) have information he wants or
                          
b) are somehow important to the demons."
                          
"That means Keira's probably important to the angels too," Castiel adds.
                          
"Raphael," Kristy says looking at her angel boyfriend with wide eyes.
                          
A silent conversation seems to happen in the middle of the room. Then Castiel turns to all of us as Kristy runs over over to Sam.
                          
"We are going to look into it and see if any of the angels know anything," he tells us, speaking quickly.
                          
Kristy hugs Sam tightly and kisses him on the cheek. She mutters something and he nods, hugging her tighter. I wonder if something ever happened between these two. Obviously, Kristy ended up with Castiel, but I wonder if there's still something there or if Sam still has feelings for her.
                          
"We have to go. The war is getting worse and one of our luietenants just called for us," Castiel continues.
                          
"General Cas is pretty popular," Kristy says going to Dean and giving him a big hug.
                          
"Aright. But be careful Kris. War isn't something you've ever faced before."
                          
An expression crosses her face that's both sad and serious and has seen more things than any person should. She kisses him on the cheek.
                          
"I will. See you Dean. Bye Sammy."
                          
She takes Castiel's hand. He nods at all of us and then they all disappear. I stare at the spot they just occupied.
                          
"Do they do that a lot?" I ask.
                          
"Yeah, pretty much," Sam says with a shrug, looking a little sad that Kristy and Cas are gone.
                          
"So who is Kristy exactly?"
                          
Dean looks over at me and gives me a knowing grin.
                          
"Is someone jealous?"
                          
"What? No!" I lie.
                          
"Yeah whatever," Dean says laughing, "but you don't have to worry about Kris. She's our sister. Her and Sammy together is just...ew."
                          
"Oh, so she's a Winchester?" I ask.
                          
"No, her last name is Singer. But her father, Bobby, he's kinda like a dad to us and Kris grew up with us. Before she was half demon and half angel, she was a hunter and she hunted with us."
                          
"Oh," I say flicking a glance to Sam who's watching me with a strange expression on his face.
                          
I quickly look away, feeling my cheeks heat up. After a second, Dean stands up, clapping his hands and scaring the hell out of me.
                          
"Well, let's get going," Dean announces.
                          
Sam immediately gets the bags packed but I'm confused.
                          
"Get going where?" I ask.
                          
"To our next case. After breakfast of course," he answers.
                          
I just stare at him.
                          
"I'm coming with you?"
                          
"Of course. Kris says the demons want you for one reason or another, so you're safest with us on the road," Sam adds.
                          
Without further questions, I get up and follow the guys out the door.
