Merman! Sweden x Fisherman! Norway
The cold breeze floated around Lukas' head making the boy shiver from time to time, but a little bit of cold never bothered anyone and he needed to get food for his brother back at home.
His rod and net where perched on his shoulders, and a box in his left hand that contained other needed equipment. His boots sloshed through the grass and mud as he made his way down to the river bank.
Today wasn't the brightest of days, but yet again it never is. Lukas placed the box down somewhere he can reach for later, he moved the rod into his hands, unlatching the hook and piercing a worm onto said hook.
His gaze wondered across the lake, the mist making it hard to see the green coloured liquid, the creepy sound of twigs snapping and the water going steady would put anyone off. But Lukas always had put family first, so fishing for his and his brother dinner was a must do.
A nervous feeling washed over Lukas, he couldn't wash off the feeling of being watched by someone, but the only person to be seen was Lukas himself and no house to be seen for miles!
So why was he feeling this creepy tension? He looked over into the green abyss again, his eyes catching onto movement in the water.
It gave him a jolt of shock for a moment, He had been fishing ever since he could remember, why is it he was only just feeling the sense of fear?
The waters steadiness was ruined by a sudden splash, the ripples bouncing back from what caused the sudden disturbance.
'It is only fish, get a grip' Lukas told himself, getting his rod ready again. He held the handle tightly, and brought it back, readying himself for latching it forward.
Just as he brought his arm forward, he spotted an odd sight.
Stopping the rod immediately, His eyes quickly stared to where he saw the figure.
He couldn't believe what his eyes were showing him!
A head was stuck out the water, the head owned short blonde bangs and enticing aqua eyes that pierced through his soul, The head had gills from its scaled ears to its strong neck.
The creature was giving Lukas a cold glare, Lukas felt his body shake.. And not from the cold.
"Hello?" Lukas asked, his voice quivering at the end.
The creature was silent, but did make the effort to swim across the lake to get a better view of Lukas.
"Do you understand me?" Lukas asked, feeling more brave than he was.
Still no response from the being.
Lukas took notice as the being swam closer that it's body got higher out the water, showing off a hard chest and muscly arms.
The being was as pale as Lukas, But what Lukas soon realised that this being was a merman.
The man's tail soon made an appearance as the man made a sitting position, the tail was long an scaly with the same colours as his eyes.
One wouldn't be able to tell where the tail actually began, it only went from skin to scales around his abdomen.
Fins pointed out of his elbows and the sides of his tail, and two larger fins at the end of the tail.
"I understand you" A gruff voice came from the merman, shocking Lukas in the main time.
"What are you doing here at this lake?"
Lukas was lost for words, Lukas had always fished at this very lake and never in his life has he seen such a sight.
"I came here to get food for my brother and I"
