(Chris' POV)
                          
Waking up is one of the hardest things for me to do. If everybody knows one thing about me, is that I love my sleep. But, being one of the important leaders to the youth in this society, I have to do my part. Getting up out of my bed is a struggle in itself. I went to the bathroom, showered, then I threw on some black jeans. Adding a white shirt and black jacket. I ran my hand through my curls and grabbed my bag walking down the stairs to see my dad reading a book.
                          
"Hey son" my dad said looking at the book 
                          
"Hey. I'm about to go. I'll be back later."
I stated as I put on my black Timberland boots.
                          
My dad doesn't leave yet, he and all the other adults work in the woods. My peers and I go to the big house at the corner of the trees leading into the forest.
                          
"You know where to find me if you need me. Be safe son."
                          
I walked out the house heading to my girlfriend's house to pick her up so we can walk together. I can't really say what the adults go in the woods to do, but it's not normal. In fact none of us in The Oak are normal except for one person. That one person is Jay. We all have our own type of uniqueness. But she is just your average human. She doesn't know anything about the abnormal stuff that we all go through. I was born with my abilities. It came natural for me. Even her parents are keeping secrets from her about what they are really capable of. It's not anything harmful like that but... It's just not normal. I'm just afraid that soon everything will come to the light, and it won't be the sweet way. I love that girl so much and I want to do everything in my power to protect her. Anything can happen at any moment.
