Aris glared at the empty book as if it would come to life. She thought; "This might be important. I'll try to find the owner and give it back as soon as I can." And with that, she snatched it and made her way back.  Yet, as odd as it seems, the journal seemed to give off a... Mesmerizing sort of feeling. Of course, it didn't belong to her but it wouldn't hurt to 'examine' it a bit. Surely whoever this belonged to wouldn't care as much, besides, it wasn't as if the pages were lined with gold or anything.

Oh.

The journal was displayed (open) on Aris's bedroom table. She fingered through the gold-aligned pages in awe. This must've been pretty expensive to afford, maybe the owner would care after all. But then again, she had to find the owner's name in it somewhere first. Aris skimmed everything from front to back. Yet there was no sign of anyone's name in it. The book was truly blank.

"What the hell? Where is it?" she mumbled, going over the book for the tenth time.

With a short grunt, she got up and went to look for her flashlight (in case unexpected blackouts like this happen) and snatched the journal with her upstairs. She felt the smooth door handle of her bedroom door and twisted it, stepping inside.

Aris squinted through the dark, since it was evening the light from outside wouldn't really help. She ran her fingers through her chair, her table, her lamp - no. Where could it be? Being a little lost in thought, she accidently ran into the side of her bed. Aris awkwardly bent down and hugged her ankle. But it wasn't just her ankle she had to worry about.

WHACK! Something hit hard at the back of Aris's head. A curse managed to slip out of her groan as she fell to the ground with a thud. Something - someone  - gently picked her up and placed her in her bed. As if she merely fell asleep on accident.  She barely managed to keep her eyes open long enough to figure out who put her in bed before she fluttered her eyes shut.

And slept...
