Jason's pov
I went to mom's and got drunk. "How can I save her?!" I shout, throwing down my eighth bottle of beer. It shattered against the hard wood. My mother shook her head. "You stop that now!" She yells. "Sorry ma. I'm just.... I want her back so bad!" "You clean up that glass right now." I sigh and clean it up for her. "Sorry ma." I say, hugging her. I head for the door. "Where are you going?" She asks. "The bar. I shouldn't put you through this." "No Jason, come here." I close the door. "Stop it son. What would your daddy think if he saw you right now?" Oh dang. She doesn't mention dad except when it gets really bad. I sit back down beside her. She hugs me and walks in the kitchen.
His mom's pov
I hear the front door slam. I look up and run in the living room. "Jason!" I gasp. He's gone.
Brantley's pov
Her hands tangle in my hair as we make out. Her phone rings. "Ugh." She growls, her hands tensing up. She answers it and her eyes go wide. "What is it baby?" She sighs and hangs up. "My God!" She snaps. I ask what's wrong again. "Jason ran out of his mom's house drunk. Who knows where he is right now?!" "And who cares?" I say, wrapping my arms around her waist and kissing her. She shakes her head. "I've got to go find him."
Jason's pov
Claire sits beside me. "We should go Jason. Just leave Macon and never come back." "Baby, I can't do that. My family's here." I mutter, covering my eyes with my hand, a headache already forming. Claire kisses me a few times, making me smile. "You sure know how to get to me." I mumble, pulling her onto my lap as we make out. I hear someone scream my name but I'm too drunk to care. "Girl, you look so fine tonight." She smirks, grabbing the top button of my shirt. She effortlessly unbuttons my shirt, her hands all over my bare chest. Someone calls my name again. Who is that? Then two headlights land on us. I shield my eyes from the bright light and shakily stand up, almost falling over from drinking so much. The lights flip off and I finally see who it is. "Oh hey hun, what are you doing here?" Claire whacks me in the head. "Don't call her that!" She gripes. I roll my eyes. "Jason, your mom is worried sick! You just left completely drunk." Miranda says. "Where's Brantley?" I ask. "At home, why?" "No reason." I pull free of Claire. "Jason, where are you going?" She says. I ignore her and walk over to my first love. "Your girlfriend is calling you." Miranda says nervously. "I heard ya." I reply, pushing her against the truck. "No! Jason, get off me." "But baby, I love you." I hear the sound of a gun click. My hands freeze. She's trembling and hiding. "I thought you said Brantley was at home?" "I followed her. Damn good thing that I did too." He growls, the gun on the back of my head. I stare down at her, completely ignoring him. "Baby, please don't be afraid of me." I say. "Jason, get your hands off me, please." She says. I shakily let go of her. Moving my hand to her cheek. "I'm sorry hun. Being drunk fogged my mind. I didn't mean to scare you." "It's okay." I take a step back. "Are you okay?" Brantley asks, dropping the gun and holding her hands. I stare at the gun, deep in thought. Should I? I shake my head and look back at them. That smile. The look in her eyes. She really does love him. Tears push at my eyes. "Baby girl, I need to ask you something." He says, her face in his hands as he kisses her. "Miranda, will you marry me?" My eyes go wide in shock and horror. "No!" I cry, grabbing the gun and pointing it at him. "Oh yes B, I love you." She cries, hugging him. "No don't do this to me baby!" I cry. "Jason, stop it, I'm not your baby anymore and you know that." She gripes then kisses Brantley. The gun falls from my hand. I can't do it. She loves him now. I have to get over it. I have to let go.
*one week later*
Miranda's pov
I can't believe B proposed. I'm so excited. My friends Rachel and Sierra are throwing me a bachelorette party. A knock at the door surprises and confuses me. I get up to answer it but he opens the door instead. Uh oh Jason. "Don't try to change my mind." I say, crossing my arms. He shakes his head. "No. I'm not. I'm sorry about last week too. I got drunk and don't know what came over me. I'm sorry I grabbed you." I'm so surprised by this. "Oh.... It's... Okay Jason." He smiles. "I... Uh congratulations by the way. I hope he makes you happy." He says, hugging me. Tears threaten my eyes. "Thank you. He does. He makes me very happy." I say. He rests a hand on my cheek. "Bffl?" He asks. I laugh. "Fl." I reply hugging him.
*a few weeks later*
Jason's pov
He picks her up and kisses her passionately. I stand up along with everyone else and clap. That girl is married to the guy of her dreams. She steps off the altar and B grabs her waist, picking her up again. She laughs and he throws her over his shoulder. I laugh and as she walks passed she grabs my hat and puts it on her head. "Hey crazy! Give me that back!" I call. She sticks her tongue out then laughs hysterically when he tickles her. I roll my eyes and cross my arms.
*later*
I find her in the crowd. "Can I have my hat back?" I ask, tapping her shoulder. "What? This hat?" She teases. "Yes that hat!" I gasp, making a grab for it but she pulls it back. "Nah, I think I'll hold onto it." She says. I smile. "You are one crazy country girl." I mutter, shaking my head. "Jason, I can I keep it?" I look at her surprised. "Keep my hat? Why?" "Well, once me and B move down to Jefferson I won't see you much." She mumbles. "Yes you will. I'll visit." "Not as much as I'd want." I'm gonna just go with this since she's sorta drunk. I'll get it back later. "Sure." I mumble, shrugging. "Let's go somewhere quieter." She says, grabbing my hand and pulling me to the door. What's going on? We go out into the parking lot. "Man, it's too loud in there." She mutters. "Where's this going?" I ask, confused. "Goodbye Jason. I'll miss you." She says, kissing me on the lips. My eyes go wide and fill with the love I have for her. My arms wrap around her. We make out on her wedding day. I should stop but I can't and I won't. I pick her up and carry her to my truck.
*later*
She stares ahead shocked. "I can't believe I just did that." She whispers. I should've stopped her. "Hun, no one has to know. Just go back to Brantley and hurry so he doesn't start looking for you." She looks over at me. "I'm sorry Jason." "No reason for you to be sorry." She kisses me one more time then goes back in the reception hall. I should've stopped her. If she wasn't drunk, the guilt would eat her alive. Luckily she won't remember it tomorrow.
Miranda's pov
*the next day*
Brantley intertwines our fingers and kisses my neck. "Damn girl, you look so pretty." He says. I smirk and turn around. "We're married." I whisper, gladly. I look at the ring on my finger. I love this man to death.
*a few days later*
Brantley's pov
I drop the spatula when I hear a scream! I run upstairs and Miranda jumps in my arms. "Baby, what's wrong?" I cry. She kisses me over and over. "B! I'm pregnant!" She cries excited. "Yes!" I gasp, swinging her around.
Miranda's pov
I call Jason a few minutes later. "Jason, I have big news!" "What is it?" "You're gonna be an uncle!" He's silent. Probably shocked.
Jason's pov
Dammit!!! Fuck!!!! What do I do?! What do I say?! She's pregnant because of me!! I knew I should've stopped her the other night! I just couldn't. I loved her too much. What do I do if she's pregnant with my child?! "Jason hello?" "Oh uh yeah that's great! I can't believe it hun." Really can't believe it. "I'm so happy for you." Us. We talk a little longer then she hangs up and I drop the phone to the floor. My head in my hands.
