A Camping Trip

                                    

                                          
5:00 in the morning. 
                          
"JJ,get up. We're going camping." said Jay 
                          
"Really? This early." JJ complained
                          
JJ got out of bed and packed his bag and then got dressed. 
                          
"Bye Erin. Love you." Jay kissed Erin and then kissed Juliet. 
                          
"Bye Baby." 
                          
Erin fell back asleep. 
                          
"Boys,you two better listen to me." said Lane 
                          
"Ok Dad." 
                          
"Boys,up now!" yelled Adam 
                          
Michael jumped out of bed and fell to the ground. 
                          
"Dang Dad! Why are you waking us up so early?" 
                          
"Mikey,it's called the fine art of going camping and getting outdoors." 
                          
"But it's like 30° degrees outside." said Mason walking into his brother's room 
                          
"Does it look like I give a crap. Go pack your bags and get dressed we leave in 5 and your grandpa took me camping in December. It was cold." 
                          
Adam walked back out the room. 
                          
"Jay,I'm coming. I am gonna grab my bag and come to your house. You'll drive me." said Mouse 
                          
"Alright Greg. Just hurry. We are running late." 
                          
Mouse jumped into his car after kissing Nadia and Meredith. 
Chris got into the car after putting the kids into their carseats and getting Emerson to Erin's house. 
                          
"Thanks Erin for taking her for the weekend." Chris handed Emerson to Erin 
                          
"No problem go have fun." 
                          
Jay hopped into the car with Mouse,Chris and JJ and Greyson. Antonio drove with Adam and the boys and Kevin. 
                          
5 hours later. 
                          
JJ woke up groggy. He sat up and looked around and saw his Dad put the car in stop. 
                          
"Dad,Are we here?" JJ asked
                          
"Yeah. We just got here. Wake up Grey." A couple minutes later Adam pulled his suburban up and parked it. 
                          
Jay hopped out the car along with Chris and Mouse. Jay opened the back and grabbed the bags. 
                          
"Give me your phones." said Adam 
Mikey hesitated before giving it up. 
                          
"But Dad!" 
                          
"No. Buts. You are on a family camping trip. Now hand them over." 
                          
"JJ,Give me your phone." 
                          
"Dad!" 
                          
"No Dad me. Give me your phone." 
                          
JJ handed his phone to his Dad. Jessa got up from her room and walked downstairs. 
                          
"Hey Mom! Hey Emerson."
                          
"Hey Jessa. Go get dressed We are going to a Spa for the weekend. While your dad and the guys are camping." 
                          
"Ok. I'll go get ready." 
                          
Jessa ran back upstairs and jumped into the shower. 
                          
"Juliet. Come see!" said Erin 
                          
"I'm coming Mommy!" 
                          
Jules ran towards her Mom. 
                          
"Let's go get you dressed and then we can go see Meredith. Ok." 
                          
"Ok Mommy. Why is Emerson here?" 
                          
"Because Chris went camping with your Dad." 
                          
Juliet followed Erin into her room. Erin picked out a few outfits for her. 
                          
"Dad! Thanks for doing what you do everyday." said Isaiah 
                          
"What'd mean Isaiah?" 
                          
"Thanks for saving me. For taking me in. I know you probably didn't want too knowing that you had other children." 
                          
"Isaiah,You coming and living with me. I don't care about that. I helped you get to the other side. I helped you become who you are today. You have two kids and a wife. That's all that matter Isaiah." 
                          
"Dad,Did you ever think you'd end up with 6 kids? Being a Dad,A Sergeant and a grandpa?" 
                          
"No. I always knew I wanted to be a Dad. I didn't think to 6 kids. 3 sons and 3 daughters. You guys are a blessing always. I am glad you are in my life. Isaiah,You've come a long way from that 16 year old boy that never knew when he'd get his next meal to a 26 year old Married,Doctor and a Dad." 
                          
"I'm just worried I won't be a good enough Dad." 
                          
"You will. Be the best you can be. Don't worry about what others think of your parenting. Worry about yourself and Brittany." 
                          
"Thanks for talking with me." 
                          
Lane was starting the fire when a pile of snow fell on him. "Holy Crap" he said 
                          
Jay started laughing.
                          
"That's cold. Holy crap." Lane was shivering he ran towards the cabin and sat down by the fireplace and warmed himself up. The little kids were in the room playing while the older ones were exploring the outdoors. 
                          
"Lane stop being a damn sissie." 
                          
"I'm not! That's freaking cold!" 
                          
"Lane you live in Chicago. Move down south to Louisiana if you don't like the cold." 
                          
"Maybe I will." 
                          
JJ and Mason and Mikey ran inside. 
                          
"It's cold. Brr." complained Mason 
Mason walked over by the fire. 
                          
"Mason,put a sock in it." Jay ruffled his hands through Mason's hair. 
                          
"You two were complaining also!" 
                          
Everyone else walked inside.
