I dedicate this Chapter to Sakura45. She was my very first fan before I'd even thought to write this story. Thank you to Sakura45.
To everyone else THANK YOU!!! For the comments, for the votes and for enjoying the story. I didn't expect no more than maybe 100 or so read but you guys have done far better than that. And according to you I'm number 545 on the What's Hot list. I'm just happy to be on the list. Again thank you!!
From the comments I've read you're ready to see what happens in the tutoring room but I have to post this first. Chapter Four is the tutor room scene. I hope you still enjoy this though. Catch you Katz on the flip side.
Micah's POV:
By the time we got into the building I was hit with a bundle of nerves again. I kept waiting for everyone to turn around and start in on me.
"I can't believe I let you talk me into this." I muttered yet again as we made our way towards my locker. Grinning Sean pointed to our friends.
"Come on man, you need to get over this fear, it's done already. Listen, don't force it, just let it come naturally. The formula as been set up all you have to do is follow through. Besides it's what the website says to do." I turned to Sean to give him a glare.
"What website?" Giving me a sheepishly smile Sean glanced down to his Nike's then back to me.
"Well... I wanted to help to make sure everything went smooth so... I went on line... I found this site called Wattpad. They had these stories on there, romances and stuff. I just took a few ideas and arranged them to fit our little situation here." Maybe I'd heard him wrong. I understood the wanting to help part, that was typical Sean but everything else threw me for a loop.
"What stories are you talking about? What the hell have you done now?" Before Sean could answer Katlin was there in my face. I jumped back a bit because she literally came out of nowhere.
"I called you and you didn't answer." She said. Taking another step back I inhaled some much need oxygen. Whatever perfume she put on she drowned herself in it.
"Katlin we aren't together anymore. Of course I ignored your calls and I'll continue to ignore your calls until you understand that I'm not interested in you anymore." I tried to say it nice and slow so that she could understand what the hell I was saying.
"Micah, why are you acting like this? I mean you leave for the summer and come back acting like I don't even matter. I'm your girlfriend!" By now everyone has stopped in their tracks and turned towards us. I hated being the center of attention but if this is what Katlin's wants then this is what she'll get.
"Girlfriend? We broke up before summer even got here. We both agreed we wanted to come into our senior year free of the girlfriend/boyfriend drama. I told you I didn't want to be tied down any longer and you said you just wanted to have fun. When I left for the summer I was a free man. I come back and you're all over me like you got amnesia or something. I don't want to be your boyfriend anymore. I don't want to take you to prom. I don't want you calling me ten times a night. There is no need for you to make future plans because we don't have a future together. If you haven't notice I'm-"Sean jabbed me in my side just as I was about to admit to the entire student body I think I'm gay .... that would have been something. Katlin stood there with tears in her eyes. I knew as well as everyone else they were crocodile tears. The girl could cry a freakin' ocean if the scene called for it. It's why she does so well in drama class.
"Micah, I don't know what to say." Wow... she was milking this for all it's worth.
"Don't say anything. Not to me, not to my friends and not to my family. In front of all these people as Sean as my witness, I am officially without a doubt breaking up with you. Goodbye Katlin." Turning my back to her I started for my first period. The crowd opened up like the Red Sea, I kept my eyes forward and kept walking even when I heard Katlin erupt into howling sobs. Before I could exit the crowd I could hear the mumblings of girls. They were excited at the possibility of them hooking up with me. I fought to keep quiet. They act like I was the prize bull or something.
"Here." Sean said handing me a textbook. I looked to him to see him smiling.
"Why are you giving me this?" Pausing at the intersection Sean started towards his first period.
"You didn't get your book and you know Mrs. Horwrath deducts points if you don't have your text book. I'll see you in second period." He said before disappearing down the hall. I looked down to the book then back to the hall he'd gone down.Shaking my head I stuffed the book into my bag and headed to first period. By the time I sat down the whole room was buzzing with news from this mornings confrontation. I pretended not to hear not wanting to invite any conversation. By the time Mrs. Horwrath started class I'd gotten sick of hearing about how I embarrassed Katlin who stood there in tears begging me to take her back. I was about to snap when my phone buzzed. Taking it out carefully I opened the text message and scanned the screen. A smile appeared on my lips.
'Heard about this morning. U Ok?' It felt like the oxygen had been sucked out my lungs. Declan was concerned about me.
'4 the most part. Hated 2 do it but she pushed me 2 it.' I wrote back. Propping my elbow on the desk I lay my phone in my lap and started to work on my packet. Silently my phone buzzed again.
'Heard rumor she slapped U. No it's not true but wanted 2 let U no.' Well damn... I missed that part of the story. Wonder what else everyone has added to this morning drama.
'No slapping. Just ready 4 the day 2 B over.' I sent my message just as Mrs. Horwrath looked up from her papers. When he text me back I could see Mrs. Horwrath peeking above her glasses in my direction. The two girls behind me were talking about 'The Scene' as they call it from this morning. Not paying attention they didn't see her stand from her desk and make her way over to us. I leaned forward and hid my phone with my shirt.
"Detention, the both of you." She said her shrilled voice startling everyone in class. After she regained her seat I pulled my phone out. There were three messages blinking for my attention. Scrolling through I had to bite my bottom lip. The first message was from Katlin.
'I'm sorry we fought. Let's make up?' Deleting it I went to the second message.
'Don't ignore me Micah, I love U.' Again I deleted it. I was praying the last one wasn't from Katlin but I wasn't that lucky.
'U've found someone else haven't U! I won't tolerate U cheating on me. I am U're girlfriend!! We R not through with this!' I was about to power my phone down when another message came through. I was about to automatically delete it when Declan's name flashed across the screen.
'U want 2 cancel tutoring?' I read the sentence over again then once more for good measure. Was he crazy? Hell no I didn't want to cancel. I didn't want to confess too much to Sean but I was more than excited to send an hour alone with Declan. The more I thought about it the more I was trying to rush time. I could deny it to Sean about how I felt but there was no way around how giddy with excitement I got just thinking about Declan.
'No cancelling. I want 2 B ready 4 the next track meet. I can tough it out.' I sent the message and prayed that Declan went for it. When I felt my phone buzz I took a calming breath and opened the message.
'Alright then. C U 3rd period.' I felt myself release the breath I was holding. Sliding my phone back into my pocket I hurried through the work packet and sat watching the clock tick by slowly. After the fourth nod of my head I realized I should have went to sleep. Turning in my packet I settled back into my chair. I had an hour and twenty minutes left, cat nap here I come.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
