CHAPTER ONE- New Job and First Encounter

                                    

                                          
I am walking home after day 1 of my new job.
It's at Starbucks...
Yeah, I know, OOH SHE'S SUCH A WHITE GIRL OOH
Anyways, it went really well today. I served customers,learned secret recipes, and met new people. It was great... Except for the fact that I have to walk home because my Volvo was stolen from the parking lot of the grocery store last week and in the parking space, there was a card that had a little jester on it with the word joker above its head. There was a little message on it. It read: 
THANKS FOR THE CAR, MY DARLING RACHEL.
I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AROUND. 
HEHE.

So far though, I haven't "SEEN HIM AROUND"...

About halfway home, I notice a little gas station that wasn't there before. It had a sign above the door that said GRAND OPENING
There was the little set of 12 self-serve gasoline pumps...and above, the new roof with flouresent lights. And 80's music playing from somewhere. There was no one around, so I just went in to the little food-mart.
There was a man about my age at the register and when the little ddddiiiinnnggg went off as I opened the door, his face lit up at the sight of a customer. "HOWDY!! WELCOME TO GUS'S GAS AND FOOD MART!! MY NAME IS JOEY!! HOW ARE YOU THIS EVENING, MISS?!!?" 
Although he was a bit loud, I was polite to him because there was nobody else here, and he was so enthusiastic. "Fine thank y-" 
"MA'AM, DID YOU KNOW WE ALSO SELL BIKES?!!?" 
I asked "Joey" if I could have a look because that would be a faster way of getting home.
It turns out the bikes were really cheap, so I bought the nice purple one with a small white basket on the handlebars for $6.99 . 
I bought a pack of gum for $0.50, and a matching white and purple bike helmet, which Joey very loudly suggested, for $3.99 . 
I said thanks and goodbye , then I pedaled my way home
