Jessica's Point of View
I sat there not having any idea of what to say.
What was there to say after all? My number one enemy just admitted liking me when we were younger, not only that but he thought I was beautiful.
Awkward.
We kept driving, but both of us wished to be elsewhere. Our fun and laughter left as the questions came. Sometimes James felt like my brother, other times he was my enemy, and other times it was like we had just went through a major break up.
Why were there always mood changes?
Ugh. Life.
"We are almost there," James warned.
"Where is 'there'?" I asked not sure if I wanted to know or not.
"A cafe that my brother took me to when we moved back here years ago. He will most likely be there," James spoke.
Again with the brother stuff. After hearing about him so much, I can't wait to finally meet him. Is that weird, dying to meet someone you have never meet?
I guess I was so lost in thought about this "brother" of James' that I zoned out.
"Jess?" James asked.
I quickly snapped back into the real world.
"Umm yeah?" I asked unsure of what we had been talking about.
I thought about it for a moment, before I realized what we had been talking about.
The cafe where James' brother was.
He gave me a questioning look.
"Oh, yeah, the cafe," I said recovering.
"You okay?" he asked me.
"Yeah," I said.
He turned off the music we were listening to. The music had once turned on to make the situation less awkward.
"I have a question?" he told me, asking for permission to ask it.
I nodded my head telling him to continue.
"In all the chick flicks I have seen, the smoking hot guy give the sweet girl a cute nickname. I need to give you one. What do you want it to be?" he asked.
"You watch chick flicks," I questioned trying not to laugh.
"Shut up and answer the question," he mumbled.
"I do not want a nickname," I firmly told the weirdo.
"Okay, then I am gonna call you--," he began before he slammed on the breaks.
I mentally sighed. This is not a fairytale, and I do not want it to be treated like one.
What in the world has gotten into this crazy boy? Weren't we enemies just two hours ago?
"--right? Okay then, let's go," James said.
"Man, I really need to stop going into my own little world and stay in reality," I commanded myself.
I hopped out of the fancy car and walked over to James. He stuck out his hand to me, asking me to grab hold of it. I did, only because I did not want to be rude.
He gracefully pushed the glass door. Inside the cafe was small little coffee table where many people sat on their laptops taking advantage of the free Wi-Fi.
In a corner was a few love seats arranged neatly around a low, brown table.
I was still looking around the cafe when I was dragged over to the counter and then pushed into a back room.
I listen to the news often and watch scary movies (something most nerds never do) and this is the situation is making me nervous.
In many crime movies, the young girl is taken to a place far out in the middle of nowhere (and I am in the middle of nowhere), then the terrified girl (I am terrified) gets taken to the back room of a small shop (which is exactly where I am) and hurt beyond words (that is the only thing that has not happened yet).
I get paranoid easily.
James must have felt me tense up "Jess, calm down. I am just taking you to see my brother. I am not going to hurt you. Lay off on the movies,"
Woah, he just read my mind. Am I the only one creeped out by my situation?
Okay, I am the only one.
Great.
I had unconsciously staring at the ground ever since be yanked me into here, until I heard a moan.
My head flew up.
In front of me stood a brown-haired boy. He hair was all askew. I could only see the back of him, but I could tell he was very hot and not just because he was in a heated make-up session.
The girl who was practically eating his face off was a red-head. Her hair looked fake as did her perfectly long legs that were wrapped around the boy's body. Her tiny hands were around his neck.
They must not have seen us standing there because they began taking it to the next level.
The boys began to walk over to a love seat that was identical to the ones in the main room, but it was more dirty and a little broken. It was clearly in there so it could get fixed.
They continued on making their way over to the sofa, not breaking for air even once.
Once they got to it, the boy laid her down on it, but her legs were still wrapped firmly around him.
He began to rub his hand up and down her body causing her to moan once again. He was about to make his move, right in front of two innocent bystanders.
James and I.
His hand slipped up her shirt, but before he could violently rip it off, James coughed.
His awkward cough caused the couple to look up and blush.
"Getting rather close," James told the couple.
The room was dark, so I could not tell what they looked like.
"Really James?" the deep voice questioned "What is so important?"
"Just thought you may want to meet my girlfriend," James said casually.
I looked at him and whispered "Play along."
James flipped on the light switch giving me clear view of the two who now stood in front of me.
"Jason?" I asked,.
"Jessica?" the boy asked.
Oh no.
