October 7
Today was fun. We went to Horton Haven and I got to sit between Madeline and Monica on the bus on the way there. I was hoping no real people sat there because I wanted to sit between my two best friends.
When we got there, the senior girls (and Ms. Dolly, Destiny, & Karilee) got to go to the lodge instead of the cabins. It was SO nice in there, with the huge sitting room with animal heads and stuff on the walls and the rooms each had one big bed and two bunk beds. I thought I would have to share a room with real people but I was wrong! I got to share a room with just some of my imaginary friends. Ms. Dolly and Destiny told us who was staying in which room. Destiny is in a room with me, Karilee, Minnie, Madeline, Monica, and Lexi. Madeline was mad about having Lexi in our room.
Some of us sat in the living room and some of our friends went upstairs where there was ping-pong and pool. Suddenly, we heard a cry. Sure enough, Caitlyn came downstairs with Ms. Dolly holding an arm around her. Caitlyn was crying because Lexi had hit her in the face with the ping-pong paddle. Ms. Dolly yelled at Lexi to come downstairs but Lexi talked back to her. Being the little b*tch she is, she probably did it on purpose. Ms. Dolly is sick of her, I can tell.
A few minutes later, Madeline, Brienna, Lynn, Hannah, Ms. Dolly, Destiny, and I went out to play 9 Square (which was 6 squares this time). It was so much fun, even though I was too short to hit the dang ball half the time!
We had lunch. Now we Dazzling Dancers are excited because we get to start out the dance again. The kids in my class asked me to do it, so of course the other Dancers have to do it with me. Lynn knows we are doing it, but she can't tell anyone else because it's supposed to be a surprise.
Destiny, Karilee, Madeline, Monica, Sheyenne, and I got to go on the canoes with a bunch of other people. I was in a canoe with Monica and a couple other girls. They couldn't figure out how to steer the boat and Monica and I were giggling. Monica was having so much fun, and she kept laughing the whole time (which was a long time). The scene was beautiful, with the sun shining on the lake and some of the trees changing colors.
When we reached the end, we went over a strong current and then banged into something. The canoe that Madeline and Sheyenne were on crashed and this boy who was on a kayak with Destiny and Karilee had to help them, and Destiny had to help Mady and Shy. When Madeline's canoe went over the current, they all flipped over, which Monica predicted was going to happen.
Then Monica, Madeline, Destiny, Karilee, and I walked back to the lodge where Lynn was. Lynn wanted to work on our book. Lexi was trying to take a nap. I bet Ms. Dolly is glad Lexi isn't in her room. Lexi drives her nuts.
Our friends left the room so Lynn and I could do our book. Lynn doesn't want anyone listening in because it's her life story, and it's about all the things that have happened to her.
It was time for dinner soon, and then Chapel. Madeline, Minnie, and Lynn sang in Chapel and it was so lovely! Monica was so excited to finally get to hear them sing.
There was a bonfire outside and people were walking around and hanging out and taking pictures. I got to be in a couple of them!
In the auditorium where they have Chapel, people were singing karaoke and then after a while, the competitions began. There were a few lip synch performances and then the dance competitions started. The freshman didn't do anything. So the sophomores went first. (That means Sheyenne, Lynn, Marybeth, their other friends, and Brea, Lacy, and Lia.) They were fun to watch and they had cool dances, and then it was the juniors' turn. After that, it was finally us!! Ms. Madison, Ms. Scarletissa, and Ms. Meredith were there to see us, too! We did our dance and then when it was time for the Harlem Shake, my imaginary friends were in a semicircle around me doing the same moves I was doing, but I was in the front, and it was so much fun!! I always get sassy when I'm dancing. The best part was when I threw my little vest off during the dance because everyone went crazy over that.
Then there were a few more lip synch battles, one of them being some of the sophomores, including Lynn, Lia, Brea, and Anna. It was hilarious when Lynn and Brea got into a little shoving match at the beginning of the song (which was Burnin' Up by the Jonas Brothers). Then they stopped pushing each other and did their dance. BUT Brienna screamed at Lynn who was on the stage, "PUSH BREA OFF THE STAGE!" and Lynn gave her a thumbs up and I could see her say, "You got it!" So when the song ended, Lynn gave Brea a hard shove right down the stage steps. HA!! Brea screamed and Ms. Dolly, who'd been right at the front watching the whole performance because Lynn was in it, busted out laughing that Lynn did that to Brea. I would think a grown-up would be more mature than that, but I was glad she wasn't! Brea deserved to be laughed at.
But the best thing was the last performance!! Everyone wanted my chemistry teacher to do a song (lip synch) and she finally gave in and decided to do Single Ladies by Beyoncé, and one of my real friends did it with her. It was fun to watch and then my teacher had ME come up on the stage, and I couldn't believe I was about to do another dance in front of everybody. Boy, was it fun! I had to improv but I was pretty good. Brienna came and danced some, too, and then Monica stayed on stage dancing with us! Monica was so excited, and we were dancing together with the teacher and some other kids. Everyone had a fit over it (well, not over Monica because they couldn't see her).
