Aphmau's pov
I don't know how long Laurence held me for and before I knew it I fell asleep in his arms. "Mm?" I woke up to a familiar ceiling I was home. "Was that a dream?" I thought as I slowly sat up.
I looked around and saw Laurence sleeping in a chair in the corner of my room. "No, it wasn't a dream it was very real." I looked at Laurence' sleeping face and smiled. I slowly got up and and smelt pancakes.
I missed that smell. I stepped out of bed and snuck out of the room trying not to wake Laurence. I walked downstairs and saw Levin and Malachi. A tear rolled down my face and I smiled.
Malachi saw me and yelled "Mom!" He ran to me and jumped into my arms and Levin followed. I hugged them both tight and Malachi started to cry. "You hadn't been back for seven days I thought you would never come back."I would never do that Malachi."
I slowly bent over and set them on the floor I looked to my dogs and they attacked me licking my face. I was happy to be home.
"What's going on?" Zoey walked up from the basement and when she saw me she ran to me and hugged me. "Don't ever leave like that again?!"I'm sorry." She let go of me and picked up Levin and sat him back at the table.
She called them both back and they started eating again. "Garroth?" I thought and then I remembered he was hurt. "Garroth?!" With that I ran out the door and to the guard tower.
Garroth's pov
I woke up to a sharp pain in my chest. "Ahh..." I sat up and looked around I felt a bandage wrapped around my chest. I saw I was in the guard tower and I remembered Aphmau's pained face.
"Aphmau?" I looked around not seeing her and I was worried. I tried to stand up but I couldn't because when I would try I would fall back onto the bed gripping the bandages covering my chest.
Laurence' pov
I saw Aphmau get up from her bed and she smiled at me she probably forgot that guards sleep with one eye open all the time. She left the room quietly and quickly and I smiled.
I rose from the chair and stretched and I could hear Malachi sounding so happy and the dogs barking. I waited until everything settled down and I was about to go downstairs until I heard Aphmau yell "Garroth?!"
A little part of me was sad but as long as she is happy I'm happy. That's at least what I thought but I knew I couldn't change her mind about me. I went to the window and saw Aphmau run to the guard tower. "Man, I wish it was me."
