Valentine POV 
                          
It was 3:30am and I was trying to keep awake. I was waiting for Corey to fall asleep. I got up and grabbed my bag and skate board. "Corey?" I call out. No answer. I grabbed a piece of paper and pen and wrote a letter 
                          
Corey, 
                          
Sorry not being able to tell you but I have to go. Live life to the fullest. It was awesome meeting you. You were such a great friend

I left the house slowly. I looked for a Walmart or target then realized they don't have those yet. I skated around the city then finding a K-Mart. It was still open. I ran inside and grabbed a lamp and paid for it the cashier gave me a funny look on why I was buying a lamp at 3:30am. But I ignored her. I paid and left. I skated to the freeway bridge where I came from. 
I got there by 4:00am. I cut the wire of the lamp off and then slit the wire right in the middle since I didn't have a charger like when I got here I had to use another wire I think it will work. I set the time on the time machine under my board. I looked down at the cars down the bridge "goodbye" I said softly. I then walked back and set my board down. I hopped on my board and skated, it went faster and faster and faster. When I finally I went across the cord. I came across the wire. I looked back. I was still here, I panicked "what the hell?" I said to myself. I started breathing hard but tried to calm down. I skated again, then again, then a fourth time. By the sixth time I fell off my board and stayed on the ground. "Why won't it work" I said. I checked the time machine for the fifth time. It looked fine. 
                          
I called Cara. "Valentine where are you!" She yelled. I tried to speak normal. "I-it's n-not -w-w-w-w-working. I tried s-s-six t-times already" I said. "Are you sure you did everything right?" She asked me. "Y-yes" I said panicking. "Calm down calm down we'll figure something out. Did you get a cord?" She asked me. "Yes from a lamp I got at k mart" I said. I sat on the cold bridge floor. "You set the time machine?" She asked me "yes" I responded. "Oh! Did you cut the wire in the middle?" She asked me. "Yes. Yes. Yes! I did it all!" I started crying. "Valentine we'll get you back here" she told me. 
"My mom is going to panic! My birthday is tomorrow! What am I going to do?!" I cry well my birthday was today but it's the middle of the night. "I'm going to have to tell your mom" Cara told me. "Oh no...." I cry. "Well what else do you want me to do? She's going to report you as missing!" Cara told me. She had a point. "How am I going to do this again Cara. I sneaked out of Corey's house. I didn't want to tell him I was leaving" I said. It was silent. 
                          
"Cara....Cara.... Cara!!!!!" I said. "Valentine check the wheels. Is there a metal wire clawed in each wheel?" Cara told me. I checked the board "only one on the back left wheel" I respond. "But the others are marked as if they fell of or something" I finished. "Were you riding the skate board around there?" Cara asked. "Yes" I say. "There's your answer. They fell off. Just go to KMart and get paper clips. Then you unfold then and wrap it around the wheel. It helps with electricity" Cara explained. "Cara k mart closes at 4:00" I sigh. I heard her sigh. "Stay another day" she told me. "Where will I go?" I ask "go back with Corey or just cruise around till k mart opens. I'm sorry kid"she tells me. "Yeah me too" I sigh. I hung up. 
                          
I stayed a while crying. What If it doesn't work. What if I'm stuck here. Forever. Where will I stay. What will my parents say. I started breathing hard and tried breathing normal. I got up from the floor and took all the stuff. I left the lamp there because I didn't want to carry a stupid lamp all around town. 
                          
I didn't go back to Cory's place. I didn't want to see him, it hurt me to have to go yet I wanted to go home. But it's the last and only time I got to meet THE Corey Haim. 
                          
I wandered around streets of Hollywood. I tried not thing of sleep. I needed to stay awake. I was cold though, my flannel was warm but not enough to keep me really warm.
