Jane's Point Of View:

When we pulled up to the address, I got out of the car and pulled out my gun. I quietly opened the front door and Frost and I walked in with our guns in the air. We checked all down stairs and nothing or no one was there. We walked downstairs into the basement, and there was a steal door. I heard muffled yelling and quiet sobs. I opened the door and the man turned around with his gun in the air. I shot him three times in the chest and he fell to the ground. I kicked his gun away and checked his pulse.
"He's dead." I said. I ran over to Maura, and uncuffed her. She wrapped her arms around me and cried.
"Shhh, I got you baby girl." I said and held her tight. The paramedics then rushed in with the stretcher and a body bag. They checked her out before putting her on the strecher. I got in the back of the ambulance and held her hand he whole way to the hospital.

When we pulled up to the trauma bay, a group of trauma surgeons took Maura.
"32 year old female, has visible abdominal injuries. No visible head injury." The paramedics said as they took her out of the ambulance.
"Take her to trauma one." A doctor said and they rushed her into the hospital.
"Ma'am you need to wait in the waiting area. We will give you an update as soon as we can." A doctor said as she escorted me to the waiting area. It has been thirty minutes and I haven't got an update. Ma, Frost, Nina, Frankie, and Korsak all showed up.
"How is she?" Ma asked
"Still in surgery. Where's Sophia?" I asked
"With your father." Ma said
"Thanks, Ma." I said

After about four hours of pacing back and forth with no update, the doctor walked out.
"Ms. Rizzoli?" She asked
"Yes, that's me." I replied
"Your wife is out of surgery. She had some internal bleeding in her lower abdomen. The surgery was successful and she should be coming out of sedation pretty soon." She replied and showed me to her room.
"Sweetie, we will let you guys have your privacy. We'll come by later." Ma said
"Thank you, Ma." I said and followed the doctor. When I got to Maura's room, she was peacefully sleeping. I pulled up a chair and placed her hand on my and put her hand to my cheek. I started tracing random designs on the palm of her hand with my finger. Then her hand made a fist around my finger like a newborn baby would do. I looked up, and saw her slowly waking up.
"Maura, sweetie." I said quietly. She opened her eyes and gave me a big smile.
"Hi." I said with a big smile.
"Hi." She replied with the same smile. I placed a light kiss on her forehead.

Later that day, Ma brought Sophia to the hospital.
"Mommy!" Sophia said as she ran into the room.
"Hi my baby." Maura said and I lifted her on the bed.
"Be careful for mommy's tummy." I said
"Mommy got an owie?" Sophia asked
"Yes sweetie." Maura replied. Sophia leaned down and lightly kissed Maura's stomach.
"All better." Sophia said
"Thank you sweetie." Sophia sat between Maura's legs while facing me.
"When can mommy go home?" Sophia asked as the doctor walked in.
"Your mommy can go home in three days." The doctor said
"Yay!" She said
"Why so early?" Maura asked
"Well you are a doctor, so you know the signs of something is wrong.
"Oh okay. It will be nice to sleep in my own bed."
