RECAP: Ash mated with Conlan and Liam after she realizes that even though she thought she hated Conlan she stills trusts him as much as she does Liam. And that's about it.
                          

                          
PHELAN POV
                          
I couldn't sleep again. I lay in the bed as Ash's fear and pain pounds into me. Then suddenly I tense. I panic and at first I don't know why then I realize that I don't feel anything from Ash anymore. I don't bother to use the bond as I rush down the hall to her room. I throw open her door, afraid of what I might see, and freeze. Before I can blink twice Conlan has rushed out of the room, shut the door, and slammed me into the wall. I stare in surprise and it doesn't escape my attention that he's naked and his eyes are glowing.
                          
"What were you doing in her room?" I make a gesture, choking. I can't really talk when he's squeezing my throat like that. He seems to realize that and loosens his hold but doesn't release me.
                          
"Her fear has been pounding at me, breaking down my defenses, when it just stopped I thought she was dead. I didn't realize that you two were mating with her. I'm sorry." He growled at me and I saw his face start to contort like he wanted to change.
                          
"How do you know we mated? Did you watch us?" His hand started my squeezing throat again and I'd had enough. I understand why he's upset but he's not my dominant not by half. I put my hands on his chest and shove. Not with my body but with my magic. I feel him grunt as the fear I hold inside me rolls through him and he lets my throat go. I straighten as he continues to glare at me.
                          
"The reason I don't feel her fear anymore is because she's mated with you two. Now you will help her manage with it. Think of it as buying a car, you got the car and the radio that doesn't work." He continues to glare and I sigh. Liam would have got it. "She's essentially your other half. Her fear is now yours and Liam's, no one else's. I could take some from her but her fear isn't calling to me anymore because you own it. She's not property but I can't think of an easier way to explain it. If she's afraid you'll feel it instead of me. If she has a nightmare, you two are the ones that will shield her but...." I pause as Conlan relaxes and Liam walks out of Ash's room, naked. I raise a brow as Liam shuts the door behind him. Shifters really don't care about being naked, apparently.
                          
'What's all the bloody whisperin about? Our mates' tryin ta sleep." I smile genuinely happy for them.
                          
"I"m trying to tell Conlan why I barged into your room and warn him about the side effects of you three mating." Both of them tense at that.
                          
"What do ya mean lad?" I so did not want to be the one to say this.
                          
"Look if I wasn't afraid of you two getting hurt I'd keep this to myself but since I can't feel her fear anymore it means you two will and you need to be prepared. Ash hasn't told you everything that's happened to her and it's really really bad." Both of them look pissed and I raise my hands.
                          
"She isn't keeping it from you. She just hasn't remembered it all yet but her fear remembers and I've been drowning in her fear since I met her. What you two fail to realize is just how strong she is." Both of them look at me quizzically. I had to figure out how to explain this right. "You know I feed on fear right?" Both of them nod. "Well her fear is so strong it was breaking me down, hurting me and I was feeding off of it just to help her have some semblance of control. I can't risk you two going wolf while your sleeping next to her." Liam's eyes met mine and I knew he'd finally gotten it.
                          
"Yer saying that her fear will overwhelm us. That it's going to hurt that bad?" I turn and slam my fist into the wall, frustrated.
                          
"I'm saying if I can eat her fear and it's overwhelming me how the hell are you two going to keep it from killing her and you two?" Conlan stiffens as he finally gets it. Sometimes it sucks to be me.
