Days turned into weeks; weeks into months. You spent every lunchtime with Yun, and made his lunches for him- thankfully, you remembered not to forget your own ever again, although Yun probably wouldn't have minded sharing again. Occasionally, the pair of you hung out on the weekends and after school, where more than once you two had been mistaken for a couple; a mistake that never failed to make your soft cheeks blush red as you corrected them each time, although you secretly wished they were right.
Yun hadn't snapped at you ever again since that one incident, although occasionally you did catch him glaring at other males if they ever happened to look at you while the two of you were together. Another thing you found odd was that he did seem to know quite a lot about you even without you telling him; nothing super personally really, but little things- your favorite color, your favorite book, what shows you liked- but he never let on much more than that. It wasn't enough to alarm you, but it was certainly enough to make you wonder. You trusted Yun, but there was an awful lot of mystery surrounding him.
Summer break was coming close, only half a month away. The weather was a pleasant, summery-spring mixture, the heat of the approaching summer toned down by the calmer warmth of the spring. The rest of the school-year had seemed to whiz by when Yun had befriended you.It was Saturday. You sat at home, bored. Suddenly, you heard your phone go off, and when you checked it you saw a text from Yun.
"Hey, (y/n), are you busy today?"
You smiled, your (e/c) eyes lighting up."No, not at all! What's up?"
"Nothing really, I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out together today..."
"I'd love to! What time?"
"I'll be over at your house in an hour. Does that sound alright?"
"Sounds great!""Good. See you then!"
You spent the next hour trying to gussy yourself up. You put in your favorite earrings and pulled your (h/c) hair back into a (hairstyle), trying your best to make it look perfect. You slipped on your (favorite outfit) and paired it with some cute wedges. Just as you finished getting ready, you heard the doorbell ring. You grabbed your (f/c) purse and raced down to the door.
"I'm hanging out with Yun today, Mom! Be back later!" you called before you opened the door.
"Okay! Don't have too much fun!" you heard her voice reply.
"Yeah, yeah," you mumbled as you opened the door.
For a moment Yun stood there, a blush filling his cheeks, staring at you as though lost in a trance. Quickly, however, he snapped out of it. "You look really pretty today, (y/n)!"
Now it was your turn to blush.
"O-oh really? Thanks! So where are we going today?"
"I thought we could go over to that cafe that opened up a few weeks ago, it sounded really good!"
"Sounds awesome!"
The two of you left the house and started down the sidewalk. You both made small talk along the way, but you were mostly silent; the weather was lovely, and the plants around you were starting to bud with life- you were both lost in the magic of it all.
When you arrived at the cafe you ordered a caramel frappe and a chocolate muffin. You were about to pay for it, but Yun insisted that he would. The two of you sat down and started chatting as normal. You realized how this was totally a date.
W-what am I thinking?! Gah, there's no way Yun would like me in that way...to him we're just friends...right?
You felt yourself blushing.
"Is everything alright, (y/n)?" asked Yun, noticing you blushing for no apparent reason.
"Oh! Sorry, i-it's nothing- I was just lost in thought." you hastily replied.
Yun laughed. "Alright then!"
And with that you went back to chattering away.
After the pair of you finished up at the cafe you went for a walk. You went everywhere; the park, the flower shop, the lake- it didn't matter where- you just enjoyed each other's presence and conversation.
Eventually, the two of you passed the mall, and Yun stopped.
"Hey, (y/n), do you want to go look around for a while?"
"Sure!"
You spent some time trying on outfits and browsing through the various stores. Yun said that everything looked amazing on you, which made you blush. You were looking through your favorite clothing shop when Yun stopped you and held up a necklace. It was stunning; it had a gold chain adorned with several brightly shining gems, your birthstone.
"Do you like it?" Yun asked.
"Yeah! It's gorgeous!" you said, your (e/c) orbs shining.
"I'm glad! Because I'm getting it for you."
"W-what? Really?! Y-Yun, you don't have to..."
"But I want to, because it makes you happy. When you're happy, I'm happy!" said Yun, flashing you that gorgeous smile of his.
"Yun, thank you so much!" you said, flinging your arms around his neck.Yun's pinky-red optics widened in surprise, his cheeks slowly turning the color of his hair.
"It's nothing really, if it makes you smile..." said Yun shyly. You flushed pink at his words.
After Yun purchased the necklace for you, you slipped it on. Yun looked at you, his cheeks blushing.
"It looks even more amazing on you, (y/n..."
"A-ah! T-thank you, Yun!" You felt your face turning red.
The two of you talked on for a bit until finally Yun turned to face you.
"Hey, (y/n), would you mind going somewhere with me?"
"Eh? Oh, sure! Where are we going?"
"You'll see," he said with a smile. "Don't worry, you'll like it."
You were a bit nervous but you decided to go with him anyway. As the two of you walked together, more than once your hands brushed. Just that contact was enough to make you flush red all over again.
Finally, Yun led you to a field. The scene was unreal. A field of wild-flowers lay in front of you, their colors ranging from blue to red, their hues ranging from pastel to intense. He walked through it with you, coming to a halt in the middle of it all. He sat down, motioning for you to do the same.
The sun was setting, and its colorful hues had erupted in magnificence all over the sky, as though it had been painted by some great artist, with streaks of creamy-colored orange and undertones of dark purple, and pink laced in-between it all. Suddenly, Yun took your hand in his. Your eyes widened in surprise and you felt the heat on your cheeks. Yun smiled at you, a dreamy look in his red-pink orbs. "(Y/n), I took you here because I wanted to tell you something today," he started.
"Y-yes?"
This cannot be happening.
"(F/n) (L/n),"
No way.
"I..."
Is he really?!"...love you."
Suddenly nothing else mattered. The mystery surrounding the boy you loved, how he knew so much about you, how you two had become friends- it meant nothing.
"I-, I love you." the words fell out of your mouth. Yun brushed a loose (h/c) strand of hair away from your cheek. He leaned over and locked lips with you for the first time, marking the start of your new relationship, as more than just...friends.
