Eyes
Expressive and green
Telling you everything if you look
Letting you see what I can not tell
If you look deep enough
You will find
My eyes are my giveaway
You ask me if I'm fine
And I'll say of course
But you'll notice how my eyes
Do not follow the rest of my body
They instead hold the sadness
That I try so hard to hide
And the fear
That you too will leave me
It does not matter if you say forever
Because forever is a lie
The others said it too
I could see it in their eyes
And while yours have not said as much
Mine know the tale
And so my head says stop
And my heart aches
Hoping you're the friend that won't leave
Hoping you're the one that'll stay
But my eyes know
Eventually
You too will go
