Sorry for taking so long to update but I had serious writers block. This isn’t edited so apologies for any mistake.

Chapter 4

I looked at his drop dead gorgeous face. I thought he was good-looking but boy was I wrong. I slapped myself mentally, stopping myself from staring at his God-like body. I took a few seconds to compose myself before speaking.

“So my hero at the bar was actually my new boss. Isn’t this a small world we live in?” I said giving him a smile.

“I wouldn’t say hero, but you can call it how you like. Now on a professional note,” he stopped writing and looked up again, “Congratulations on receiving this job Miss Evans and I hope you exceed my past sectaries.”

“Please call me Rose,” I insisted.

“Rose, well then please call me James.”

I smiled a little, he stood up and shook my hand, and tingles of electricity ran through me. He must have felt it to because his head jerked up and gazed into my eyes. Unable to stop myself I did too forgetting about everything as I lost myself in his deep green eyes. After what felt like hours, I snapped out of it and I moved my hand away from his.

“Thank you and I do plan to exceed any pass sectaries you’ve had.” With that we started on business. I was shown my office to but down my belongings. It was massive and had a professional but homey feel to it. It wasn’t as big as Mr Smith’s office but for that I was grateful.

I put down my things and sighed. What happened back there? I have to keep my personal and work life separate so that means he’s off limits, but oh his eyes are so, No! No! No! This was only my first day and I was crushing on my boss. I took a deep breath and walked back to Mr. Smith’s office.

I took a seat opposite him and he passed me a piece of paper.

“So, here is the contract, as you should know, it last for a year. Read through it and decide if you want the job or not,” he said in a bored tone. It seems he’s recovered from what happened. I read through it making sure that I agreed with all I had to do. I took out my pen, signed the contract and passed it back.

“Well that’s that, you are now officially my sectary and if I don’t leave I’ll be officially be late.” With that James stood up and walked to the door and turned around and said “See those files on my desk?” I nodded “read through them and get to know the company process and try to remember important names. You can introduce yourself to the workers. Please wait for me before you leave, I’d like to get to know you better through dinner.”

My heart skipped a beat. He wanted to get to know me better. Well it makes sense since well be working together but God he is to die for. I turned to get the files as instructed to and was surprised at the size of it. Well I wouldn’t be finished any time soon.

“And Rose,” I turned back to see James looking straight at me.

“Yes,” I croaked.

“Bye,” he said before turning to leave.

“Bye,” I whispered with a smile.
