"Now I'm trying to make sense of what little remains, 'cause you left me with no love or honor to my name."
(Amelia's POV)

Before I left town, Sarah asked me why I led Jonathan and Edward on if I had no intention of being with either of them. However that wasn't the case at all, or at least that wasn't my intention. I cared about them, more so than any of the other villains. They were the only ones I would protect, besides Oswald, if it ever came down to it. I never saw them as monsters or villains, only as two men who were misunderstood by the rest of society. Of course that all changed when they killed my mother in front of me. It wasn't that they weren't monsters; they just hid it very, very well. Perhaps I knew that all along, but refused to admit it.

Opening the door to my apartment, I could tell something was off. Mostly because the apartment was completely spotless. There was also no snow falling from the broken window, no dust gathered up on all of the furniture, and the place didn't look deserted. It was exactly as it was before I left town. Almost to a T. I looked down to see that I was wearing my uniform from Gotham General, the green one that had a stain from my lunch the same day that... Wait that's impossible. Why am I reliving that point in time? And why in the hell am I so tense?

I hear the phone ring in my bedroom, noticing the pictures that were thrown across my bed had the eyes scratched out. The pictures were from the birthday party Oswald threw me at the Iceberg Lounge. But that was 4 years ago, it shouldn't feel so recent.

"Hello, this is Amelia."

"Amy, I've been calling for forever, where have you been?"Sarah says worriedly

"My phone died and I just got home. Is something wrong?"

"Mom is nowhere to be found. I just got home from buying groceries and the entire place is trashed, and I don't like it."Sarah says, her voice becoming slightly distorted though it wasn't from the phone.

"Oh my god. Did they leave something behind, like a ransom note? I'll be right there, Sar."I ask, turning around to see Hush standing in the mirror, his reflection smiling at me menacingly. Without thinking I throw the lamp at the mirror, causing the mirror to shatter into pieces. I turn back to the phone in panic, wondering what the hell was going on.

"Hey Amy, how does it feel to be the reason our mother is being tortured right now?"Sarah says in a monotone voice, causing me to back up in fear.

'Seriously what the fuck is going on right now?'

"What...?"I ask as I felt cold hands on my shoulder, causing to flinch backwards into the wall. But then there was a flash of white light.

"Hey Amy, you look scared."Sarah says, concerned. I look at her and realize that we're at our old apartment, the entire place in a mess. There was glass and blood all over the floor and white walls, the furniture torn to pieces, and the window open to the midnight sky. There was a slight problem with the whole thing though. There wasn't blood when Edward and Jonathan kidnapped my mother. Only broken glass and a note. This isn't right.

I look over at the kitchen counter and see a bright green envelope with a small dark green now on top of it. I open it slowly to see Edward's handwriting. Maybe the letter is same, all melancholy and upset, making this all a small nightmare.
