Luke floated near to the surface of the water, his blonde hair blocking his oceanic eyes slightly as he sat in wait under the calm ocean water below him.

Looking a bit in front and upward, he glared towards a cliff which stuck out of the watery depths. Many of his people had warned him to stay weary or the land for it was the symbol of the border between those who thrived in the sea, and those who lived on land.

Luke never told them though that the reason he would come to the border nearly every day was to see you. In the distance, a figure became visible on the border-marker.

The wind was lightly blowing, causing your (h/l) strands of (h/c) hair to gently sway as though they were apart of the ocean’s waves, making a beautiful ripple all its own. Your eyes looked like the most gentle pools of (e/c). But the thing he loved the most was your voice which was smooth as silk and as calming as the gentle pitter-patter of rain when they dripped across the ocean’s charm, almost making him feel that maybe in a past life you were a mermaid too.

He assumed that every day, you would come out of your home and sing a soft tune to the ocean, probably to please your peoples’ God or something or for whatever reason land dwellers sang for. Luke was so entranced by your voice, making him believe that you definitely had been a siren in your past life, and unfortunately you were a human in this life.

Staying concealed beneath the waves, he approached the border until he was literally able to touch the hill of limestone that divided the two of you. Poking his head out of the salty waters, he heard your hypnotizing voice emanating from above.

Letting himself relax and shutting his peculiarly blue eyes, he stayed completely still as he listened to the tune you let from your vocal cords, because if he wasn’t able to see you up close, then he should at least be able to relax to the sound of your voice. These moments were pure bliss, seeing as how all Luke ever got was yelled at by his older friends who often complained about his travels near the bordering land. But when he heard your note go sharp, he looked upwards only to see you slipping off the edge and falling down. You were hundreds of feet above the water and an

mpact like that could render you crippled.

Luke could only get one shot at this and he knew he was jeopardizing not only his identity, but his races’ secret. Then again, he couldn’t let you die at this day and age either, even if humans were easily replaced and didn’t last as long as his kind did, to him you were special.

Diving under the waves, he watched as you plummetted into the ocean, the bubbles of air surrounding her whilst they glowed from the glare the sun gave out underwater. Your (h/c) hair floated around under the water as he approached and your beautiful eyes shut.

Pulling the you away from the cliff and then up towards the air that you desperately needed, he tried his best to excrete the water in your lungs. He was petting at your back to hopefully get her to cough. No dice.

He knew he’d have to do what humans did at this point. Taking in a bunch of air, he pressed the stranger’s lips against his and let the fresh air fill your lungs. Luke did this a few times while trying to knock some of the water out simultaneously.

Luckily, after the fifth try, you started coughing rather violently, the water coming out from your mouth after long last and air filling back up in your lungs. It took you a moment for you to get all the oxygen back into your lungs and once you had done so, you turned to Luke, your beautiful pools of (e/c) looking straight into his.
