"Hally! Hally! What that?" Mia shouted as she pointed to the birds.
                          
"That's a seagull Mia." I point to the bird flying upon us.
                          
We were currently walking through the pier to get to some restaurant Violet's father loves. Mia being the curious self she asked about everything she was seeing. Her little hand held mine and I was the only one doing that as she refused to hold hands with anyone else. That of course didn't suit well Aaron but he didn't say anything.
                          
Brad and Leo groaned for most of the walk as they promised they were never ever drinking again. However, I bet they will be drinking more sooner than later. 
                          
James was silent since they came from that kitchen and I wonder if that is a good or a bad sign. Violet and Britt made conversation about Violet's work at the hospital for most of the walk.
                          
"Hally what that?" Mia asks pointing to a bike.
                          
"That's a bike Mia. Would you like to have a bike someday?" I ask her.
                          
"Yes! Yes!" She says excited.
                          
"Then I will buy you one soon." I promise her.
                          
She squealed in surprise and then giggled. "Thanks Hally."
                          
"No problem sweetheart." I say with a smile.
                          
I was happy I was getting on with her. I wonder if I can get on this well with other kids. I never been a kids guy neither I been exposed to them. I guess I am good after all because Mia seems to be a bit obsess with me. Who knows maybe I been good with kids all this time without finding out.
                          
We reach the restaurant and it looks like a nice familiar dinner from the outside. The inside is warm and cozy, the smell of hamburgers and soda filling our noses. I wasn't surprised with the choice after all Violet's dad seems to be obsessed with meat and I am surprised he is not overweighed. In fact he is very fit for a man of his age. God did I just say that?
                          
"Hally, you like burger?" Mia asks me when we all sat down, of course she on one of my sides.
                          
"I do sweetheart." I say with a smile.
                          
"Me like chicken fingers." She says with a smile.
                          
"I like chicken fingers too." I tell her.
                          
"With ketchup?" She asks.
                          
"Of course." I say.
                          
"Me too." She says with a big smile.
                          
"You like Harry, little one?" Leo, who is seated in front of Mia, asks her.
                          
"Yes, he fun!" Mia says with a smile.
                          
"I think you are not the only female Lane that likes him." Leo says before sending me a wink.
                          
Violet hits his arms making us laugh. She intertwines her hand with mine and gives me a smile. I have to contain myself not to kiss her here and now but I delete the idea when I feel her father's eyes on me. I gulp just as he looks towards the waitress taking our orders.
                          
This is going to be a very difficult day.

After lunch we walked back home. The same pattern from before took place: Mia and I holding hands, Violet and Brit having a chat while her brothers and father had a conversation of their own.
                          
I was growing anxious as the time passed because I still have no answer whether they like me or not and Violet and I will be gone before dinner. If I have to leave without an answer, I will accept it but I much rather know.
                          
"Violet could you and Brit go play with Mia on your room. We will like to have a word with Harry if that is okay." James says as soon as we arrive at the house.
                          
I instantly gulp before Violet's eyes met mine. She looks nervous as well as scared, much like me.
                          
"Violet, it's okay. Go." I tell her with a fake smile.
                          
Luckily she takes it and nods before the three of them walk upstairs. Violet turns to me with an apologetic look several times but I smiled to tell her that it will be okay.
                          
"Shall we go to the living room?" James speaks bringing me back to reality.
                          
I nod and we all began to walk towards the living room. I am more nervous that I have been in my whole life. This could change everything between Violet and I.
                          
"Take a seat." James says.
                          
I sit on the couch on the same place I sat this morning with Violet. Her father sits on the other couch. Brad and Leo seat next to his father while Aaron is still next to them. And of course, all their eyes are on me and serious expressions are on their faces.
                          
"We discussed whether we accepted of yours and Violet's relationship." James tells me with a very serious tone.
                          
I gulp nervously for what feels like the hundred time in the last few minutes.
                          
"We have decided that we accept your relationship." He finally says.
                          
I release a breath I didn't knew I was holding before smiling to myself. Yes, I have been accepted as Violet's boyfriend and into her family.
                          
"I see that now it's too late to forbid that relationship because from what I have heard and seen, you two are pretty much in love." He says with a tiny smile.
                          
"I am. I love your daughter more than anything on this world." I say confidently.
                          
"I can see that." He says and I swear he smiled for a moment. "Harry, you have showed me that you care about Violet and that you love her. Last night when I found you on her bedroom and knew you will be there and I did it on purpose. I will be disappointed if you weren't there because I know that when you love someone you will do anything to be close to them."
                          
"I know it wasn't polite of me to be there." I say.
                          
"Don't apologize!" He tells me for the thousand time this weekend. I chuckle before he continues. "Then today when you came into the kitchen and you didn't acknowledged me, you acted very natural around her and that's something I appreciated more than you acting all proper."
                          
I blush at his words. I am too used to be proper and polite for my business and I think sometimes I let that affect my personal relationships.
                          
"You took care of Leo and Brad last night and defended them this morning. You also have been really caring with Mia. You make her laugh and played with her. You even let her pull your hair." He laughed now making his sons laugh.
                          
I smiled too. I think this is going well.
                          
"For all of that and everything you have showed me on these two days, I accept you as my daughter's boyfriend." He says. 
                          
He takes a deep breath and I gulp once again. It was too good to be truth, now is when he is telling me that he was joking and that I need to leave.
                          
"Taking this all into consideration, as well as with the opinions and recommendations from my sons, I have decided..." He sighs and looks at me on the eyes. "I will hear your proposal."
