Lucy POV
"Natsu?"
He jumped looking startled at the sound of my voice. He looked at wide eyed and took a step back. I stepped forward and approached him carefully.
"Natsu? It's me. I'm awake."
"You aren't supposed to be here. Why are you here?" He said in a raspy voice.
"Because you weren't there when I woke up." He flinched.
"Go away. I don't want you here." He said in a shaky voice and tried to shut the door but I kicked the door open before it closed and walked inside.
"Why are you like this? Why are you pushing everyone away that want to help you? Why are you pushing me away?" I asked backing him into a corner.
"Stop. Please. Leave me alone." I saw that he was trying to blink away the tears that were forming in his eyes.
"No, I'm not going to leave you alone. You want to know why? Because I love you and right now this isn't the person I fell in love with."
"....why would you come here and break down my walls that I spent the past few months making? I don't understand." He slid to the defeated as he stared into my eyes.
"I don't understand why you would build those walls anyway when there are so many people that care about you that would help you in a heartbeat." I squatted down to his level on the floor and reached my hand out to touch his cheek. He flinched at the coldness of my fingertips but slowly relaxed.
"I thought I was going to lose you but when I heard you were in a coma I was relieved you were alive. But then the guilt of situation started to eat away at my consciousness. I started to go insane, Lucy," He looked so vulnerable at the moment.
"I heard you, I saw you, and I could smell you everywhere. You haunted my thoughts to the point where I had locked myself away from everyone. It was almost to the point where I wanted to admit myself in a mental institute." He showed me his knuckles which had little scars on them like they were cut.
"I missed you, Lucy." He pulled me into a hug and held on tight as if he felt that if he loosed his grip I would disappear from his hold. I felt a liquid fall on my shoulder and then more after that. I heard him sniff and then I realized he was crying. I smiled a little and he held him until he stopped.
"I missed you, too." I looked out the window and saw that it was snowing again just like when I woke up. Suddenly, I got an idea and a evil grin spread across my face. I moved out of Natsu's embrance and ran outside. It had gotten colder and I could see a cloud of air come out my mouth.
"Lucy, what are you doing?" I turned around and saw Natsu leaning against the doorway looking at me in amusement with flushed cheeks. The only happy emotion I had seen since I seen him. My smile got wider.
"I'm going to play in the snow. What do you think I'm going to do?"
He shook his head and chuckled. My smile got even wider if that's even possible. "You're going to play in the snow with THAT on?"
I looked down and blushed. I still had my hospital gown on. "You can borrow some clothes from me. Come back inside and close the door."
I follow Natsu back inside and closed the door. We went upstairs and into his room. I sat on his bed while he looked through his closet. I remember last time I came here I had confessed. Then I remembered something else.
"Where is Wendy?"
"Out with my dad and his girlfriend." He said without turning around.
He closed the closet doors and threw me some clothes. Then, without a word, he walked out of the room. I sat there dumbfounded at his behavior but put the clothes on nonetheless. I stood and was entranced by the smell of the clothes. They smelled just like him. They smelled like home.
