7. The One With Monica's Date

                                    

                                          
                        Chapter Seven
                          
Ross met up with everyone at the coffeehouse and they all give him hugs, telling him they missed him. 
                          
He smiled and took a seat next to Chandler. "So, how was the trip?" 
                          
"Fun! We just missed home" Monica admits. Ross clears his throat. "And you" she quickly adds. 
                          
He rolled his eyes. "How was Rachel holding up?" 
                          
"Good good, she told me she's had trouble sleeping there" Monica hesitated to say it. She didn't know if Ross was allowed to know.
                          
"That makes two of us. I couldn't sleep at night"
                          
"Sorry to hear that" Monica frowns. 
                          
"But guess who I called yesterday!"
                          
"Who?"
                          
"Carol"
                          
Everyone was shocked. "Carol as in your ex wife Carol?" Chandler asked 
                          
"No Carol as in my sister. Of course my ex wife"
                          
Just then Rachel walks in. Ross stood stiff while everyone awaited for him to tell them about Carol. 
                          
"So what did she say when you called her?"
                          
"What are we talking about?" Rachel asked once she takes a seat on the single armed chair. 
                          
"Ross' ex-wife Carol" Joey smiles, causing Ross to glare at Joey. 
                          
"Carol? I haven't heard her name in years" Rachel raises her eyebrows. "Ross, you do know she is a lesbian right?" 
                          
He was honestly shocked Rachel spoke to him, even if it was not the nicest thing she could say. "I know that" he bluntly replies. "I didn't call to get back together" 
                          
"Really? Funny how you call her after we break up and I leave for the weekend" Rachel smiles. "Did you get very lonely" Rachel eyes his pants and looks back up at him. 
                          
"I didn't get lonely" he scoffs. "And even if I did, I have these" he raises his hands and shakes them. Everyone looks at him weird and he clears his throat, putting them down, realizing how sad he sounded. 
                          
"So Rach, where were you?" Monica spoke up to not have any awkwardness. 
                          
"Making an appointment for the baby"
                          
Ross gives Rachel all his attention. "What? Why didn't I know?" 
                          
"Cause I just made it Ross."
                          
"I want to go"
                          
"I don't think that's a good idea" Rachel admits. 
                          
"Why? Why wouldn't it be? I'm the father of that baby"
                          
"Look, Ross I know you want to be invol-"
                          
"No no! I don't want to hear the excuses, that's my child growing inside of you. I deserve to be there for each and every appointment"
                          
Rachel sighs and gives up. "Fine. The appointment is at 10 am, Wednesday. Meet me at Mons so we can go together" 
                          
"But I work..-" he shortly stops himself after he sees Rachel glare at him. "But work is not important as our baby. I'll just ask for a later shift"

"You remember fun Bobby? I wonder if he's back to being fun" Chandler randomly shouts out. 
                          
"And if he was?" Monica raised an eyebrow. 
                          
"I don't know. Just asking. I miss him"
                          
"Chandler you act like you dated the guy"
                          
"Hey! I can miss friends"
