2. The One Where Ross Is Fine

                                    

                                          
                          Chapter Two
                          
Rachel breathes out, feeling her nerves kick in. Today was the day. She hated how she was acting, I mean, Ross wanted a family with her so what's there not to be happy about? 
                          
They have enough money for the baby, they have a place for the baby, the baby is gonna have so much love, not only from Rachel and Ross but from their friends. 
                          
Thinking of the positive things made Rachel nod to herself. See? Everything's gonna be okay. Ross is gonna be okay. 
                          
Rachel smiles and looks in the mirror. She places a hand on her not noticeable stomach. "I can't believe this is happening" she whispers to herself in happiness. 
                          
There was a knock at the door, causing Rachel to remove her hand from her stomach and look at the door. "Who's there?"
                          
"It's Joey!" 
                          
"Come in"
                          
He does as he's told and looks at her hopeful. "So, did you tell him?" 
                          
"No not yet" Rachel breathes out. "It's happening soon" 
                          
"He's gonna be excited"
                          
"You think?" she bites the inside of her cheek. 
                          
"Of course Rach, he's always wanted a family with you."
                          
Rachel smiles huge and hugs Joey. "Thank you, I'm so nervous but the more I think of positive things, I feel confident" 
                          
He hugs back and pulls away to get a good look at her face. "And you should feel confident! This is exciting!" 
                          
"What did I do to deserve such amazing friends?"
                          
Joey smiles. "Since I'm such an amazing friend, if you have a boy you should name him little Joey" 
                          
Rachel lightly laughs. "Yeah maybe, we'll see"
                          
"YES!" Joey cheers. Rachel pats his shoulder and walks out her room with Joey following behind her. 
                          
Monica and Chandler were sitting on the couch, they look up at her. Monica sends a nervous smile her way. "It's time?" 
                          
Rachel nods. "It is..wish me luck guys" 
                          
"Good luck!" they all spoke in sync.

Rachel knocks on Ross' door with a basket full of candles and food she can easily prepare or hopefully Ross will cook it since she's not the best cook.
                          
A small thud comes from the other side of the door, making Rachel walk in instead, worried. "Ross?" 
                          
"RACH!" Ross sloppily yells and walks over to her or should I say stumbles over to her, he hugs her and she hugs back. 
                          
She pulls away and puts the basket down. "Ross, are.. Are you drunk?" 
                          
"What? Meeee? Psh" he laughs and almost falls back. "I'm fineee" 
                          
"Oh my god Ross, sit down" Rachel ordered and he listened and sit down. "Why did you drink so much?" 
                          
"To celebrate!"
                          
"Celebrate what? The amount of liquor you can drink before you pass out?"
                          
Ross laughs and playfully pushes her shoulder. "No silly! To celebrate our child that is growing" he points to Rachel's belly. "In here!" 
                          
"Oh no" Rachel whined and rubbed her forehead annoyed. "Who told you?" 
                          
Ross slowly opens his mouth and looks up, thinking. He looks at Rachel. "Gunther..? I walked into the coffeehouse and he congratulated me!" 
                          
Rachel cursed Gunther under her breath, even though he wasn't here. How could he ruin somehing so huge for Rachel? She wanted to tell him! Now Ross is so damn drunk and she doesn't know if he's happy or if he's just so drunk he can't feel anything. 
                          
Rachel bit her lip, scared. "So.. Are you happy?" 
                          
"Are you insane?" Ross almost yelled. "I am so happy Rach.. I can't believe-" Ross stops himself. "Wait, what are we talking about?" 
                          
"Me being pregnant... Are you happy?"
                          
"Rach.." Ross tried to grab her hands but grabbed her arms and sinks more into the couch. "This is the moment I've been waiting for.. I've been waiting for this since the first day I seen you" 
                          
Rachel giggles. "Okay Ross, you really drank a little too much" 
                          
"No you don't understand!" he whined and dropped her arms on the couch. 
                          
"Well looks like this little date is cancelled. I'll stop by tomorrow when you're all sobered up okay?" Rachel kisses his lips and stands up, walking towards the basket. 
                          
"Where... Where are you going?"
                          
"To Mon's.. I'll be there if you need me." Rachel blows him a kiss and he failed to grab it, causing Rachel to giggle once more and walk out. 
                          
It did upset her he was drunk and she was even more mad at Gunther for telling Ross but she wasn't nervous anymore cause Ross was okay with it, I mean even said it. 
                          
And plus, he drank to celebrate. Or did he drink cause he was stressed out? 
                          
No no. He even said he's happy. Rachel shook her head. She really needs to not focus on the negative. At least it's now out of the way and Ross knows.

There was a knock at Ross' door 20 minutes later and he's been sitting on the couch since Rachel left, too drunk to even find himself getting up. 
                          
He slowly lifts up his head from the couch. "Rach..? Didn't you just get here?" he slurred. 
There was another knock and he pulls himself up from the couch, slowly tipping over. He chuckled at himself and slowly but surely finds himself walking towards the door. 
                          
He opens the door and it wasn't Rachel. He rubbed his eyes and squinted. "K-kate?"
                          
"Hi Ross.." she whispers shyly. 
                          
"Look Rach! It's Kate!" Ross looks behind him, talking to nobody, causing Kate to look at him confused. 
                          
"Ross, are you okay?" Kate asked concerned. 
                          
"I'm more than okay! Kates back!" Ross cheered and lets her in while he falls onto the door, making it close. 
                          
Kate helps him sit down. "That's what I came here to talk about but.. I see you're not in the best condition" 
                          
"Whaaat? I am fine!" Ross laughs
                          
Kate gives him a small smile. "Ross.. I can't stop thinking about you" 
                          
"Me too.. I missed you!" Ross tried to cup her face but failed and his hand fell onto her breast. He looked at it and laughed some more. "Oops!" 
                          
Kate removes his hand. "Ross, did you really miss me?" a hint of hope in her voice. 
                          
"Of course! You're Kate"
                          
She smiles and lightly blushes. "So, can we give each other another try?" 
                          
Ross looks around. "Rach! Kate! Kate wants us to get back together!" he yells happily. 
                          
"Is Rachel here?" Kate asked confused and looked around. 
                          
"Yeah! She was sitting on the couch with me earlier she must've went home" Ross shrugged and slumped more into the couch, too lazy to hold himself up. 
                          
Kate leans in and softly kisses Ross. "I'm so happy we're back together, you don't know how much I missed us" 
                          
"Me ttooooo" Ross exaggerated and found himself kissing back. 
                          
Kate pulls away and smiles, happy once again.
