Chapter 11

I jolted awake from yet another nightmare. They began the first night back in the states, and now I knew I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep. I remember Jaime saying something about having two days off due to driving from Texas to Tennessee, so I know the guys won't be up any time soon.

My phone buzzed from next to me which was slightly confusing, and when I picked it up I noticed a message from Vic 'can't sleep?'

I chuckle and pull my curtain back to find his already open and him looking at me. "How'd you know?"

He shrugs, "you move a lot when you're awake." I stay silent until Vic spoke up again, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just going to go and call a friend okay? Go back to sleep," I slid out of my bunk and grabbed my phone before heading to the front of the bus.

I quickly dialed Lynn's number and sat on a couch while dropping my head to my hands. Since we met back in Pomona, we've become kind of close. We have surprisingly a lot in common and could easily create conversation when we were bored. Although, I never did tell her that I'm on Warped with Jordan.

"Hello?" her groggy voice answered after the third ring.

"Lynn I really need some advice before I have a panic attack and pull my hair out," shuffling could be heard as well as a door opening and closing.

"What's wrong hon?" I sat there for a second trying to find the right words to explain everything but it seemed impossible. She didn't know about me and Jordan, about Jackson, or even that I know Vic.

"This is going to take a while," I gulped before beginning the story about me going on warped with Jordan and that was how I had the chance to meet her in California. I told her about the situation with Jordan and me, and even explained what has been going on with Vic.

She was silent for what felt like forever, "so, you're on the Pierce The Veil bus. Like right this minute?"

"Um, yes..."

"I don't even know what to say about all of this. Why are you still there? Couldn't you go home?" I bit my lip at the question, "you like Vic."

"What?!" I whisper yelled trying not to wake the boys up, "I do not like Vic. "

Lynn sighed from the other end of the phone, "hon the first step is denial. It's obvious you have some kind of feelings for him or else you wouldn't go to him for comfort. I mean you did only meet the boy about a week and a half ago."

"Vic has so much going for him. He and the rest of the guys are going to take over the world at some point." I shifted so I was lying down instead of sitting.

"Claire, how do you feel when you're around Vic?" she asked leaving me speechless. I couldn't form words to answer her question. "Exactly my point..."

"I barely know him Lynn, and he doesn't even know half of the things he should about my past. I don't need him to be a part of that shit," the younger girl groaned and I heard movement before she spoke up again.

"That's the point of dating Claire. You get to know the person before you decide to marry them and spend the rest of your lives together," she was right, "It was obvious the first day you and him saw each other back in California that there was a spark between the two of you."

"You asked how I feel when I'm around Vic. I feel safe. He has a warm personality, whenever he sees me he hugs me, and he does anything he can to make sure I'm safe and happy." I became lost in my thoughts a tad, "I think you're right about him being the reason I'm still here."

Lynn giggled on the other end, "see, I bet letting that out helped. It's obvious that the two of you have something going on, but hon please be careful. Vic has a habit of having flings."

"I'll be okay. It takes some time for me to decide whether or not I want to be with someone," my thoughts wandered to Jackson causing me to have goosebumps.

"Okay, well I think I should probably get back to bed. It's like three in the morning here. Be careful Claire. If you want I'll drive down to San Diego to visit you when Warped comes in August," she said lowly causing a smile to form on my face.

"That would be absolutely amazing, and I could introduce you to everyone."

"Suck it bitch!" I shouted while grabbing the money from the middle of the table. We'd been parked in Nashville for about three hours now; Mike and Jaime had invited Beau and Jared, from Blessthefall, over to play a game of poker since Vic still wasn't awake and Jesse didn't feel like losing.

"Damn guys, where'd you pick this girl up? I've known her for about an hour and she's already kicking my ass," Beau joked and elbowed my side playfully.

"Come on Claire, I'm supposed to take you on a date before you start taking all my money," Jaime said from my other side and slung his arm around my shoulders.

"In your dreams Preciado," I chuckled while counting the money I'd just collected.

"Vic you're alive!" Jaime shouted causing my head to shoot up and meet Vic's familiar brown eyes. The bags under his eyes were prominent which confused me since he'd been asleep for most of the day.

He didn't even respond to Jaime. Only walked to the corner of the room where his guitar was before heading back to the lounge area in the back.

"Damn, what's up with him?" Beau muttered from next to me.

Mike glanced up from his phone for a second, "He gets like this at times. Just give him some space so he can write."

"Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to explore a little," Jared says from his spot next to Mike.

Jaime looks down at me with a smile, "I think I might go too. Do you want to?"

I glance at the closed door for the lounge then back at Jaime, "yeah, I might never get the chance again."
