(Jayy)
We woke Skuyler up, like, an hour ago and he was still grumpy as fuck. The three of us were in Dahvie's car, driving to a diner that we liked. I noticed that Skuyler was wearing makeup today. Not a lot, but he had on eyeliner and mascara, and other such eye-makeup. He looked fucking gorgeous. Although, he always did. I couldn't help staring at him in the rear-view mirror. I also noticed that he wasn't wearing nearly as many bracelets on his left wrist anymore. They were mostly on his right arm. He wasn't trying nearly as hard to hide that tattoo. Maybe he was hoping Dahvie would figure it out on his own so he wouldn't have to actually tell him. I guess Jeffree hadn't pointed out that I knew he was gay too. That's alright.
When we got to the diner, it was crowded as fuck. It looked like all the people here were from out of town. Skuyler didn't look happy, but it wasn't the same look he'd had on with the 'woken up' unhappy. Did he know these people? He put his grey beanie back on when we sat down and avoided looking around at all.
"Do you know these people?" Dahvie asked the question I was thinking of for me.
Skuyler shrugged and nodded. "They're all from my year at the college I went to, before I dropped out anyway. They're all assholes. At least, they were to me. I don't know how they treated anyone else."
That was the first time, I think that he's ever mentioned people treating him badly. And he was talking quieter than he usually did. He was naturally soft spoken. I could tell he really didn't want to get noticed by any of these people. Dahvie moved across our booth to sit next to him, and he seemed happy about that. Dahvie and I tended to intimidate people with our looks, so hopefully it would be less likely that any of them would come over if they noticed Skuyler.
One of the waitresses, our usual one, came over to our table. "Glad to see you back here, guys. Hope everything is going well!" She said. "Can I help you with anything yet? Drinks?"
"I'll have a water, please, Sue." Dahvie said. Skuyler smiled at her and asked for the same So did I.
"Alrighty. And is that everything for now? Or would you like to order?" she asked, jotting something down on her little notepad.
"Uh. I'll have whatever the special is today." Dahvie told her. I told her I wanted pancakes. Skuyler didn't want anything. They always gave us so much food when we came here so most of the time he'd just share with us because he didn't like to waste his own because he couldn't finish it.
The waitress went away after writing some more things down, telling us that the drinks would be right out. Every once in a while Skuyler looked behind us to see if any of the people were leaving, but they weren't. After a minute the waitress, Sue, brought us our waters. And the people started slowly leaving. Eventually, all but a couple of them left. The place was practically empty now. But the two people, both girls, still sitting at a booth across the room kept looking over at us.
"You sure you don't want anything?" she asked Skuyler.
He nodded, "Yeah, thanks. I'll just pick off theirs."
She walked back into the kitchen. The two people got up, looking like they were leaving. But they didn't turn at the door to go out. They kept walking this way. Skuyler sighed and rolled his eyes. And they stopped in front of our table.
"I thought that was you! How's life treated you after you dropped out?" One of them asked, giving us all, and especially Skuy, a huge fake smile.
"Oh, fantastic, really." Skuyler replied, giving her an equally fake smile. "I actually got married, and my husband just got out of jail this morning. He had to pick up our cocaine from the dealer, but he's meeting us here in a few minutes! You should totally stick around to meet him, I'm sure he'd love to tell you the story of what he did last year."
