Lucas POV

My Hero

"Keep your fucking hands off of him!" Eric shouted, kicking Zack in the gut.

That coward didn't waste any time hopping into his car and driving away. Will would have a lot of explaining to do once I got my hands on him. Not as much as I would though, now that I was in Eric's.

"Come on." Eric grabbed me, forcing me to go with him. "I'm taking you home."

I didn't argue with the guy, and simply let him drag me away. It wasn't until we were finally alone, in a quiet neighborhood, that I decided to put my foot down.

"Oww?" I cried, knowing he'd let go immediately. "Would you calm down already?"

He said nothing, though I could hear his heavy breathing. Now free, I chose to follow close behind him. At least I knew one thing for sure, if anyone were to try and hurt me now, Eric would be here to protect me.

"So how long were you out there waiting for us?" I asked him, trying to calm him down. "I would have been fine on my own, you know."

"Would you have?"

Oh he's pissed.

"Yes," I replied back, taking the lead. "And I can walk myself home too, if you're just gonna keep this attitude of yours."

"Oh, I'm not letting you out of my sight," he argued back, "never again."

It would have been wiser to just shut up and listen to him. I really couldn't be mad at him right after he had saved me. Still, it would have been nice if he didn't make such a big deal about everything all the time.

All this bickering was giving me a headache, so I took out the cigarette I had been saving to try and relax a bit. However, the second Eric smelled the smoke, he turned around and knocked it out of my mouth.

"What the hell?!" I tried picking it up, but he stepped on it to make sure I couldn't use it at all anymore. "Okay, now you're pissing me off."

"I told you I didn't like you doing that stuff," he glared down at me, "you said you would quit."

"I will," I replied, pushing him out of my way. "I'll quit when I want to quit, so butt out."

"Really? Because it seems to be the only thing you haven't quit since we first met."

"What?" That may have been true, but he was only saying it to get at me. Now he was just looking for a fight. "It's not the only thing," I reminded him, glaring back at him, "but maybe it should be."

Honestly, I expected him to explode back at me, maybe bring up some other issue or possibly even ditch me there in frustration. But instead, he grabbed me, no, held me in his arms and kissed me. He held me tighter and tighter until he let go to tell me something.

"I don't ever want to see you with another guy that isn't me."

It was really the crack in his voice that got to me. He was pretty much ready to break down in tears. This time I was the one that froze up.

Eric continued walking, but I stopped him, pulling him back towards me and kissing him myself. He wasn't as open as he usually was, but he didn't deny me either. I could tell I had hurt him by simply agreeing to go on the stupid date in the first place, and I could only imagine what he might have felt when he saw that A-hole Zack forcing me to get in his car.

"I'm sorry," I told him, swallowing my own pride in order to actually mean it, "but I don't want to go back to my house. Let's go to yours."
