Last night, we landed in Hawaii, with almost three weeks of honeymoon ahead of us. This is going to be amazing. In the past three years, we never took a vacation longer than a week, mostly because Cath had to work. That makes it all the more special that she managed to free up so much time this time around.

Cath and I threw on our bikinis and headed to the ocean for a swim. With this heat, I'll definitely need to slather on some sunscreen—my skin and the sun aren't exactly best friends.

We're staying in this fancy beach bungalow with its own little dock, which means we can dive right into the water without even touching the sand.

"Want to race?" Cath challenged me, her competitive streak showing. We were on vacation, and all I wanted was to relax.

"Why? So you can watch me lose?" I preferred splashing around, floating on the water, and clinging to Cath's body whenever I missed her warmth.

"A bit of exercise wouldn't hurt you."

"Then let's have sex instead, that's more fun." Cath rolled her eyes.

"If you keep neglecting your health, I'm going to outlive you," she expressed, worried.

"I don't mind."

"Of course not. You'll be lying peacefully underground while I'm left dealing with losing the love of my life." I couldn't help but laugh. It would be many years before any of that happened.

Around noon, we decided to head into town to grab something to eat.

"How about this?" I suggested, pointing to a lavish buffet spread out on a big grassy area under a pavilion.

"That's a wedding," Cath pointed out, nodding towards the bride and groom chatting with some guests nearby. I just shrugged.

"Well, now we're guests at this wedding." We were dressed nicely enough—me in a summer dress and Cath in a blouse—to blend in. But just as I was about to make a beeline for the buffet, Cath grabbed my wrist.

"We can't just crash a wedding. We don't know these people." Panic rose in her voice 'cause she knew I'd totally go for it without a second thought. But hey, she knew what she was signing up for when she married me.

"There must be over two hundred people here. No one will notice two more," I reassured her. It was cute how she silently begged me with her eyes to just eat at a normal restaurant.

"What if they talk to us and ask questions?" she worried.

"Then make something up. Be someone else. It's fun, trust me."

"Really? 'Cause I don't remember the fun part when you did that last time," Cath muttered unhappily, trailing behind me as I made my way to the buffet. We grabbed plates and loaded them with grilled veggies and salads.

"Take more, babe. It's free," I encouraged her. Her plate was only half full, and I knew she was hungry since we had skipped breakfast.

"It's stolen," she replied, looking guilty.

"Which makes it free," I concluded with a cheeky grin.

"Lucky us, how else would we afford food?" she remarked sarcastically. Before I could respond, an older couple approached us.

"Are you one of Lisa's guests?" the woman asked.

"Yes, we're friends of hers," I replied, hoping to sound convincing. Thankfully, she nodded, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me.
