I woke up and quietly slipped out of bed to not wake Alexia up at 5am in the morning. I met Thomas outside my door at 5.30 so I would arrive in time for tutoring at 6 at the club before our recovery session. I hadn't realised how long it had been until some of the girls started making their way into the tables to get some food. "I see you're working hard again Jess." I saw a smirk on Ellie's face but I ignored her trying to get all my work done so my tutor would leave.
I finished 5 minutes before recovery started with Kelli, Ellie and Lindsey sitting at the table next to me trying to hurry me up. "Finally, how long does it take to do your work." I glared at Kelli. "How about you try and do 6 hours worth of school work in 3 at 6am in the morning." I knew she was just joking but I was tired, I was moody, and I was stressed about my meeting with Holly at 2. When we were finished, I darted home to have a shower and get changed. "Hey how was training." Alexia smiled at me as I walked in the door.
"Yeah it was good, very refreshing. Now I need to get ready for that meeting with my agent at 2 so I'm going to have a shower." She smiled and nodded as I raced up the stairs. While I was in the shower, I heard a lot of noise in the guest room and when I got changed I realised that it was Lindsey packing her stuff. I stood in her doorway silently watching her. "I just thought it would be better if Alexia stayed with you, you know since you trust her more." I sighed lightly. "It's fine you don't have to say it, I know you don't trust me."
That made me scoff. "Of course I don't trust you, not after what you did. That doesn't mean I haven't forgiven you, I know you made a mistake and you owned it so I forgave you. And I'm sorry that you had to listen to Spanish for that long but Alexia's English isn't as good as my Spanish so it was just easier." She laughed but I couldn't tell if she meant it or not. "Just tell me if your eating gets worse, or at least tell someone." She softly smiled at me as she walked down the stairs and out the door.
"Jess you're going to be late for your meeting." Alexis reminded me yelling from downstairs as I stood looking into Hayleys old room for a moment longer before running downstairs. "I'll see you later, will you take Alexia on a walk for me while I'm gone. Thanks." I said as I ran out the front door. I spent the 10 minute car ride fidgeting with my rings and playing with the bottom of my shirt while I stared out the window.
I walked into the bakery and immediately saw Holly's long blonde hair sitting at a small table next to a window with a view of the city. "Hello Jess it's great to see you, how have you been." Her friendly smile appeared as I sat down. "Yeah it's good to see you again, I've been doing ok." I shot her a comforting smile. "Well I think we should get right into it."
"Your mothers flight lands tomorrow at 12 so you will be at training. I have arranged for Mark to let you out early and to make it more convenient your mother will arrive at the training grounds at 3 pm." I wrote down all the necessary times in my phone. "Your first meeting with your mum will just be you and her, the second meeting which is the day after will be the 3 of us and depending on the circumstances we might have 2 meetings on the 3rd day."
"Now I do need to make you aware of the things I need you to talk about with her before the meeting with the 3 of us. First of all you need to try and convince her to sign parent permission, but to do that you need to decide where you want to play Barcelona or Wolfsburg." My heart sank when she said I had to choose. A month ago it would have easily been Wolfsburg but Alexia has completely changed everything for me and I can't imagine my life without seeing her all the time.
"What if she doesn't agree. What will happen if she says no what's your plan from there." I saw her look down at the question. "Well if she says no, then your only choose is to move back to Australia and sign for one of the teams that offered you a contract or convince her to let you stay here." My heart sank all over again. "But if that happens I will make sure whatever contract you sign is only valid until just after your 18th birthday so then you can sign wherever you want."
I sighed in frustration at her answer. "But let's not worry about that because it might not even come to that. Let's focus on your goal tomorrow." She went on for about 20 minutes about how I can convince her to sign the consent form. "What is the other meeting for." I questioned curiously. "If you can't convince her from a personal perspective then I will try and convince her by showing the benefits of moving out of the A-league and how it will benefit your career."
"If that doesn't work, you will try one more time before we have a final decision the day she leaves." I took a deep breathe. "So what you're saying is that my future will be decided in 3 days from now." She nodded. "And if I fuck it up I'll be stuck in the A-league or here." She smiled. "Don't think about it like that, you'll do amazing at it just don't give up." We talked for a little bit after while she finished her drink and then we both went our separate ways. "I will be out of town tomorrow but remember to keep me updated after, just shoot me a text with what happens." I nodded as I got I into the backseat.
As soon as I got home Alexia called out to me from the lounge room. "How did it go, come sit." She patted the spot next to her. "We just talked boring details but I'm summary, my entire future will be decided in 3 days depending on what my mum says. I'll either convince her to let me go or I'll be stuck here or in the A-league till I'm 18." I saw her brain ticking, I saw her have a lightbulb moment but she didn't say anything about it.
"Let's just have a quiet night, I'll make sure you're not stressing yourself out before tomorrow. And don't forget I'll be there too so if you need me, just come find me I'll be around." She smiled as she pulled me in for a hug while she grabbed the tv remote. "I'm sorry for leaving you here all day, I feel bad that you're here and I just leave you at my house." She immediately shook her head. "Today is still apart of my 3 rest days and from here on out I'll be training, cause you sorted that out for me so don't feel bad because I will be training. Now how about Movie night." I nodded and she turned on the lion king. We had a quiet night and went to bed by 9.30.
