The air was thick with anticipation as the team made their final preparations. The plan was risky, the stakes higher than ever. They knew Derek wouldn't be taken by surprise easily, but they had one thing he didn't-determination.

Sofia adjusted her gear, feeling the weight of her weapon at her side. She took a deep breath, steadying herself. Caleb was already by the door, checking the weapons and equipment, his usual calm demeanor in place despite the tension hanging in the air.

"You ready?" Sofia asked, her voice steady.

Caleb nodded. "Let's get this done."

Gray and Marco were already in position, preparing for the diversion. The plan was simple-Marco would plant explosives along the outer perimeter of Derek's estate, creating chaos and confusion. Meanwhile, Sofia, Caleb, and the rest of the infiltration team would slip through the estate's defenses, make their way to the command center, and neutralize Derek's top lieutenants.

Elise's voice crackled over the radio as they mounted up in the trucks. "Thirty minutes until you hit the target. You're clear to move in. I'll be monitoring your progress from here."

"Got it," Caleb replied, his focus unshaken.

---

The convoy snaked through the dense forest, the sun barely rising above the treeline. The estate loomed ahead, a sprawling fortress surrounded by thick walls, watchtowers, and armed guards patrolling every corner.

Sofia's heart pounded in her chest as they neared the perimeter. She could feel the weight of the moment bearing down on her. This was it-the endgame.

As they reached the outskirts of the estate, Marco and Gray disembarked, ready to start their diversion. The explosives were set, their positions confirmed. Marco gave a final nod to Sofia, signaling the beginning of the operation.

"Go," Sofia whispered, her voice steady despite the adrenaline rushing through her veins.

---

The first explosion shook the ground, followed by a second, and then a third. The shockwaves rippled through the estate, sending guards scattering and lights flickering across the compound. It was chaos-exactly what they needed.

"Move, move, move!" Caleb barked, leading the team through the cover of trees, staying low as they made their way toward the estate's walls.

Sofia's senses were on high alert, her eyes darting from shadow to shadow. They had to make it inside before the guards regrouped. With each step, the compound's imposing walls drew closer.

Caleb pointed to a gap in the wall. "There. We go through there."

Sofia nodded, sprinting toward the opening. She could hear the distant shouts of guards as they reorganized, their frantic movements a clear sign that the diversion was working. But they couldn't afford to be complacent.

---

The team slipped inside the estate, their movements swift and silent. Every corner, every hallway was a potential threat, and Sofia kept her weapon ready, scanning for any signs of danger.

"Elise, we're in," Caleb whispered over the comms. "Where's the command center?"

Elise's voice was calm but tense. "Third floor, east wing. There's a staircase near the back of the main building. Be careful. Derek's men are everywhere."

Sofia took the lead, her footsteps light on the cold stone floors. She knew the clock was ticking. They couldn't afford to waste any time.

As they navigated the estate's maze-like corridors, Sofia felt the tension building. They were close. She could sense it-the command center, Derek's lair, was just ahead.

Suddenly, a guard turned a corner, his rifle raised. Sofia acted instinctively, dropping to one knee and firing a single shot that took him down silently.

"Clear," Sofia muttered, motioning for the team to move.

---

They reached the staircase, but as they ascended, the sound of footsteps echoed from above. A patrol. Sofia's heart rate quickened, but she didn't hesitate.

"Take cover," she whispered.

The team ducked into a narrow alcove, waiting for the patrol to pass. Sofia held her breath, praying they wouldn't be spotted. She could hear the guards talking in low voices as they walked past, their footsteps growing fainter.

Once the coast was clear, they moved again, faster this time. The door to the command center was just ahead.

Sofia took a deep breath, her hand on the door handle. "This is it," she whispered.

---

The door swung open, and there they were-Derek's top lieutenants, seated around a large table, startled by the intrusion. For a moment, the room was frozen in shock.

Then all hell broke loose.

Sofia's weapon was already up, and she fired the first shot, taking down one of the lieutenants before he could reach for his gun. Caleb was right beside her, his shots quick and precise. The others were moving fast, clearing the room of Derek's men with ruthless efficiency.

But in the chaos, Sofia's eyes locked on something-or rather, someone-who stepped forward from the shadows.

Derek.

He was taller than she expected, with cold, calculating eyes that seemed to pierce through her. His lips curled into a smirk.

"Well, well," he said, his voice smooth, almost mocking. "The little rebels finally made it to the lion's den."

Sofia's grip tightened on her weapon. This was it. There was no turning back now.

"Derek," she said, her voice steady despite the storm raging inside her. "Your reign ends tonight."

He chuckled, the sound dark and chilling. "You think so? You're too late."

Before Sofia could react, Derek's hand shot out, and the room was filled with the deafening roar of gunfire.
