Isabella appeared in her living room, tightly hugged by Rosalie, with Esme, Alice, and Emmett beside her. Moments later, Isabella's mother, Lilith, materialized beside her.
"Well, I see you have a lot to take care of," Lilith remarked, her voice smooth but laced with mischief.
Lilith approached Rosalie with a graceful stride. "Well, my dear, Isabella has chosen well," she said with a sly smile.
"Mother," Isabella interjected with a sigh.
Lilith ignores her daughter and smirks before returning to Rosalie and continues. "My name is Lilith. As you can tell, I'm Isabella's mother."
Rosalie smiled politely. "It's nice to meet you."
"Don't let this woman fool you, Rose," Isabella cut in sharply. "This woman is trouble."
"And you, my dear child," Lilith interrupted with a grin, "have company. I can answer your questions another time."
"You're stalling," Isabella accused, her tone edged with irritation. She wanted to know who her other mother was or is it is, she didn't know if her other mother was still alive and she had so many other questions that she needed answers to.
Lilith merely smiled. "Am I?" She turned to Rosalie, gently taking one of her hands and squeezing it affectionately. "We'll get to know each other another time, my dear. And you, my daughter, stay out of trouble."
Isabella sighed dramatically. "You know, Mother, I think you forget that I am a demon. If we don't find trouble, it finds us."
Alice, Emmemt, and Esme all gasp at what Isabella is. Everyone else ignores them.
Lilith stepped closer and embraced Isabella tightly. "I'll talk to you soon."
"You better, or I'll come to hell and find you," Isabella warned, hugging her mother back.
Lilith broke the hug with a laugh, tapped Isabella on the cheek, and disappeared in a puff of black smoke.
"Okay then," Isabella said. "Now that the annoying woman is gone, can someone tell me what exactly happened?"
Rosalie raised an eyebrow. "Annoying, she's your mother?"
Isabella smirked and waved Rosalie off. "Don't worry about it. I've called her worse, if I can get away with it, that woman can be a terrifying demon when she wants to be."
Esme cleared her throat. "I wanted to thank you for letting us stay here until we sort things out."
"Who said you were staying here?" Isabella retorted with a smirk.
Rosalie rolled her eyes and lightly pushed Isabella. "Don't listen to her, Esme. She's a sweetheart once you get to know her." She leaned over and kissed Isabella on the cheek.
"Isabella, this is Esme, as you've heard. That's Alice, and that's Emmett. Everyone, this is Isabella, my mate."
A chorus of polite greetings followed. Isabella nodded and gestured. "There are four rooms and two bathrooms downstairs. You're welcome to them."
"Thank you," Esme said as she, Alice, and Emmett gathered their luggage and headed to find their rooms.
Once they were gone, Isabella took Rosalie's hand and led her upstairs to her room. The space was a grand suite with an attached bathroom. A large king-sized bed stood in the center, covered in black sheets with matching curtains and dark furniture.
"This is where the magic happens," Isabella teased, making a mock bow toward the bed.
Rosalie raised a brow as she moved closer to Isabella. "Oh? And what type of magic happens here?"
Isabella swallowed, caught off guard by how close Rosalie's face was to hers—mere inches apart. She cleared her throat, quickly grabbing Rosalie's bags and setting them in front of a large wall closet. "You can put your things here," she said, trying to regain composure.
Rosalie smiled and stepped closer, tugging lightly on Isabella's shirt. "I want to see your true form," she said softly, gazing into Isabella's eyes.
Without hesitation, Isabella transformed into her demon form. Her horns curled elegantly, and her wings spread out, casting a dark shadow over the room. "You love my true form?" she asked, her voice tinged with vulnerability.
"Of course I do," Rosalie answered, tracing a hand along one of Isabella's horns.
Relieved, Isabella smiled and leaned down, kissing Rosalie softly at first, then deeply. Her wings unfurled wider as the kiss grew more intense, a sign of her overwhelming emotions. Isabella wanted Rosalie to feel the depth of her love, even though they had only just met. When Isabella desired something, there was no limit to what she would do—she would move heaven and earth to make it hers.
Rosalie's moans grew louder, a symphony of passion that filled the room. Her hands slid behind Isabella's head, tangling in her hair as she pulled her closer. Every touch, every kiss ignited a fire between them. Rosalie couldn't believe her fortune. For so long, she had doubted she would ever find her true mate. Yet here she stood, embracing a powerful demon, pouring her heart into the kiss. Isabella wasn't just her mate—she was her forever. Rosalie silently vowed to do anything to protect their bond.
A low growl rumbled deep in Isabella's chest as she wrapped her arms tightly around Rosalie, the intensity of her emotions fueling her actions. She kissed Rosalie as though the world around them ceased to exist as if there were no tomorrow. Her wings quivered and stretched out, framing them like a protective cocoon, a silent promise of devotion and fierceness.
For Isabella, this moment wasn't just an expression of love—it was a declaration. Rosalie was hers, and nothing in heaven, hell, or the mortal world would take her away.
Just as the moment intensified, the door suddenly slammed open, crashing against the wall. Isabella instinctively dragged Rosalie behind her, shielding her with her massive wings. A furious roar escaped her lips as she flung the intruder against the wall with enough force to send debris flying.
It was Alice. She screamed as her body slammed into the wall, fear etched into her features.
"Damn it, Alice!" Rosalie exclaimed, her voice dripping with irritation. "What the hell are you doing? Don't you know how to knock?"
Alice could only stare, paralyzed by fear, as she faced Isabella's terrifying form. Glowing eyes, two curved horns, a menacing tail, bared fangs, and outstretched wings made her look like a creature from a nightmare. Alice thanked God that she is a vampire and that vampires don't sleep, she knew that this creature would haunt her dreams.
Rosalie placed a calming hand on Isabella's back, running her fingers along her spine. "It's okay," she murmured soothingly.
Isabella let out a heavy breath, retracting her wings. She stepped back, straightened, and dropped Alice onto the ground with a thud, the floor cracking beneath her. Her eyes still glowed as she considered her options, fury simmering just below the surface. Should she kill Rosalie's friend or just hurt her just a little bit? Isabella growled she wanted to hurt her a lot.
Rosalie stepped in front of Isabella, crossing her arms and glaring at Alice. She knew her mate wanted to hurt Alice. "What are you doing here?" she demanded, her voice sharp and unforgiving.
Alice stammered, unable to answer, as she glanced nervously between Rosalie and the still-enraged Isabella.
