"Who's the girl Noah?"

I froze. Looking at him, glancing at her.

I felt my stomach tighten. I didn't like the way she was looking at me. Like I was something to be dissected.

"This is Violet, Billie."

Billie.

"She's cool" he said leaning back, as if he didn't have a care in the world.

"I'll be the judge of that" Billie replied, looking unamused. She got up, placing her money down gently, walking over to me with a slow deliberate stride.

She stopped, looking me up and down, her face was sharp. "You don't look like you belong here" "what are you doing in here mama" she asked.

My mouth went dry. I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. She stared at me with her hooded eyes, looking bored, waiting for answer.

Noticing my discomfort, Noah jumped in. "She's with me" he said quickly.

Billie didn't take her eyes off me. She tilted her head slightly, narrowing her eyes.

"I just- I was following Noah" I stammered slightly

"Bad habit" Billie said, a smirk pulling at the side of her mouth. "Following people like him gets you in trouble, you know how much money he owes me?" she raised her voice slightly

"One thing about me Violet is that I always earn my money back, no matter what" she stated, holding eye contact.

"I said I'll pay you back soon" Noah quickly interrupted, slamming money on the table.

"What do you want, Noah?" Billie asked, now turning her head towards him.

"Just a little something to keep the night going" he said casually.

Billie raised her eyebrow, her tattooed hands, reaching over to hand him a small bag of white powder "you got a lot of nerve bringing your friend here" Billie stated.

"She's harmless" Noah said quickly

"Don't let me see you back in here tonight" she looked up at him as she sat back down, sorting out the money infront of her. "Either of you" she added, focusing her gaze back on me.

"Got it" Noah said, quickly leaving, me following behind. Too eager to escape billies piercing stare. As we stepped back into the party I let out a shaky breath. "What the fuck was that" i questioned.

"That" Noah said with a grin "is Billie, she's intense huh?"

"Intense?!" "She's fucking terrifying" I corrected him.

Noah laughed like it meant nothing, but then I remembered the money that Noah supposedly owes her.

"I don't trust her."

"You needa chill" Noah replied, offering me some of the white powder I had watched Billie hand him.

Stupidly, I accepted.

After more drinks, drugs, and cigarettes, everything was a blur.

Everything flashed slowly as the world spun.

Quiet.

Peace.

Music.

Quiet.

Eyes.

Open.

Closed.

Peace.
