No one had been happy when they returned.

It wasn't hard for Nyssa to see the looks of hatred towards them as they walked back into Castle Black. The crows had been fighting the free folk for years, it wasn't something that was going to be put behind them overnight, especially with deaths on both sides. The most disappointing look came from Ollie, a boy whose village and family had been murdered by Wildings.

Sam, Jon's friend, had permission to head to become a maester. He'd taken Gilly and the baby with him; Nyssa hoped he got what he wanted from it and she knew the man would far much better there than at the wall. According to Jon, he'd had a rough time.

It had been an awkward day when Davos Seaworth had appeared at Castle Black. Nyssa didn't know much about him, other than the fact he'd been faithful to Stannis Baratheon.

They'd made eye contact nearly immediately.

"Hello," said Nyssa kindly, standing straight in front of him with Robb at her side.

She could feel the eyes of the Night's watch on her but she paid no mind. They weren't supposed to get involved in politics but it was hard not to.

"Nyssa Ember...or do you go by Stark now?" Davos questioned.

"Queen Nyssa Stark," Nyssa correctly. "You are Davos Seaworth. You should know that I hold nothing against you. I hold nothing against Stannis."

"With all due respect, you call yourself Queen," Davos pointed out. "Stannis is the true ruler of westeros."

"There is no true ruler of Westeros, Davos Seaworth," Nyssa pursed her lips. "If we went by logic of birth, the Targaryans would long be ruling but they aren't. Rulers should not be born into it."

"Nyssa was named Queen by the people," Robb added.

"I know the story, we all do," Davos nodded. "I don't mean any disrespect but Stannis is my King and I can here to get help for him. We've stayed out of the way of each other, perhaps we can come to an agreement.'

"I'm afraid it's too late for that. Stannis means to claim Winterfell, our home," said Nyssa, nodding her head to Robb. "That's where the line is crossed. I'm sorry, I cannot help you and I highly doubt the Night's watch has enough men too."

"The wildings—"

"The wildings won't help you," said Jon, appearing. "It's not their fight."

Before Davos could respond, the gates to Castle Black were opened. A woman, with long red hair under a hood, rode in. She was alone and on horseback; whoever she was, Davos knew her.
