ARJUN
TWO MONTHS LATER
SIXTH MONTH OF PREGNANCY
As I wake up from my sleep, my hands instinctively reach to her slightly growing belly and as if she knows that I will pull her close like usual, she eventually shifts towards me.
She places her hand on mine and goes back to sleep again.
I open my eyes with a lingering smile on my face and peck her lips softly. She pulls her nose up even in sleep but turns towards me by keeping her hand on my waist and murmurs in sleep " Itni jaldi nahi uthna hume, sone dein, please"
[ I do not want to wake up so early, let me sleep]
I keep my hand on her back pull extremely closer to me and entangled her legs between my mine under the blanket. In morning she just wants to get extra cozy. " Itni jaldi? Subah ke saat baj rahe hain madam. Uthna nahi hai?"
[ Early? Its seven in morning, madam. Don't you want to wake up]
" Nahi " she whines with her eyes close and hiding herself in my chest again goes to sleep.
[ No]
I chuckle " Noor "
She slowly opens her eyes and peeks at me from under the blanket " Aap itna jaldi kyun uth jaate hain "
[ Why you wake up so early]
I chuckle again listening to her " Jaldi nahi abhi utha hoon. Tumne apne saath saath mujhe bhi der se uthne ki aadat daal di"
[ Its not early, I have woken up right now. You have spoiled my habit along with you]
" Toh achi baat hai na kuch toh seekh rahe hain biwi se" saying this she hugged me and again closed her eyes.
[ It's nice. Atleast you are learning something from your wife]
I rub her hair with my hand and kiss on them " Acha uthke pehle mere saamne kuch lo, phir main chala jaunga"
[ Okay, first get up and eat something in front of me. Then I will leave]
" Hum kha lenge aap jaayein" she mumbles in her sleep.
[ I will eat. You go]
" Pakka " I ask again because I know how much careless she is.
[ Are you sure]
She removes the blanket from her face and frowns " Hum chote bache nahi hain. Aap jaayein hum dhyan rakhenge "
[ I am not a child. I will take care of myself]
I sigh and shake my head " Theek hai soti raho. Lekin mujhe toh choro ab, pehle college jaana hai aur phir panchayat "
[ Okay, then keep sleeping. But leave me. I have to go to college first and then in panchayat]
" Hmm"
