NEEDLESS TO SAY, WHEN XANDER GOT THE NEWS ABOUT HAYLEY, HE WENT BALLISTIC. He had been in the car with Emmett, Carlisle, and Edward when Alice had called to tell them both Hayley and Bella were gone; Bella having left herself and Hayley being taken. If it hadn't been for Emmett restraining him, he would have caused his father to wreck the vehicle.
It had gotten to the point where Carlisle had pulled onto an abandoned road and stopped the car.
"You have got to calm down, Xander." The doctor said as his son jumped out of the vehicle, fully prepared to run the rest of the way. But Carlisle's hand landed on his shoulder before he could take off. "Hayley needs you to be calm."
"Fuck that!" Xander hissed. Any other time Carlisle would have scolded him for the disrespect, but he knew his son was only worried for the well-being of his mate. Carlisle was worried about Hayley too, but someone had to stay level-headed. "She needs me to find her! God, how could Alice not have seen this? The one time we need to trust her gift, it doesn't fucking work!"
"Xander, you know how it isn't up to her." His father chided but his eyes widened when he saw Emmett and Edward take off, the latter flying ahead of the former in seconds. "Emmett and Edward are already on their way to them, they will get there faster. Alice knows where the girls are. But I need you to be calm and prepare yourself."
"Why are you talking to me like I'm some stupid kid? We are wasting time!" The younger blonde huffed, but Carlisle again stopped him from taking off.
"Xander!" Carlisle yelled, which caused the boy to freeze in his spot. The older vampire never once yelled at him or raised his voice. Needless to say, he was prepared to listen. "You're gift has to do with manipulating water. You know what happens when you get mad, you pull water from every source and lash out. I've seen enough dead trees to know what your gift can do."
