"Alright, today we are going to be doing something a little differently." Monica told me as I stood there with Lucas, Landon was there as well. "You've been sparring with your own element only, it's time to spar against other ones.""Monica and I discussed that the two of you should spar." Landon continued for her. "Lucas, you are allowed to go all out, you haven't been training for as long as her, even if your spells have a little more kick to them." They had more kick because it was fire, mine were more precise, could kill you in a second.
"Lura, you are to just avoid and use ice shards, no swords, Lucas isn't ready for that." Monica told me, and I nodded my head, understanding what I was to do. I didn't know if Lucas was going to be okay with me holding back, but seeing as he didn't complain, I'll take that as a good sign. It'll just be more time for him to play with his pet, me, I know that's what is probably going on within his mind.
It's been a couple of months, we started to talk more, but it wasn't anything serious, we are bonding, but again, he still looks at me as his pet. It might be the best way to get through to him, just accepting the fact that I am a pet to him.
I was turning seven in about three months, I wasn't even close to yellow core, I haven't absorbed any Beast Wills in a while, those were what made it so easy to progress, having them in my mana ring, they had so much mana and purifying them were easy.
"Sounds good." Lucas said, backing away from me, pulling out a spear, or staff, I don't know what to call his weapon he uses to direct his magic. Landon and Monica backed away as well, moving to the sides of the training grounds.
I backed up as well, bringing forth ice, letting it float around me as I did, knowing that I was about to be going up against fire, a weakness I have since I control ice and it'll melt it. I just have to turn the temperature even more than usual to freeze the flames, that shouldn't be an issue, it's something I haven't really tried, but I could do it.
"Begin when you want!" Monica shouted out to us, and as she did, flames erupted around Lucas, they weren't as powerful as I expected, but then again, Lucas was only eight, turning nine, he still had two more years before we see his strength in the novel.
He's strong compared to the other adventurers, that wasn't a question, he is just not the best of person when he is with them. I can see him slightly changing, but not completely, but that's okay, even if it is just a little, I'll do what I can.
"I'm not going to hold back." Lucas said as a ball of fire shot at me, I stood there, pushing ice at it, and as it got closer, the ball started to die down, and eventually it faded away and turned to smaller ball of ice that shattered when it hit the ground.
I could use water magic, but right now, I'm so used to using ice it's hard to manipulate the two of them. I rather just focus on using ice, I knew I could defend myself with it at all times, I also had Hollow Reflection.
I didn't know if using that would be a good idea though, redirecting his fire back at him at a faster rate could cause some issues if he wasn't able to dodge it. I didn't want to hurt him, I would feel so bad if I did, that's why I was happy I didn't have to attack him with ice swords, my strongest spell realistically.
Fire started to rain down on me, but I simply stood there, pushing ice upwards to freeze them, turning the temperature down to absolute zero, making it impossible for the flames to reach me, I was just on a whole other level compared to Lucas right now.
I continued to freeze his spells as they continued to come down on me, not having to move much, sometimes I did as the frozen balls came crashing down onto the ground and shattered. I rather not get hit by them, it would hurt, not do that much damage, but it would still hurt.
