The days were colder now, and shorter. School had started again, and it was even more of a hell than it was before. Sunny stared out the window for the entirety of maths, watching the leaves fall off the trees and drift through the wind before finally hitting the ground. Sunny sighed as the bell rang, and he picked up his bag to go to lunch. 
Sunny had packed his own lunch, a simple sandwich. Basil sat at the same table, a box of salad in his hands. Basil nodded a hello, and began to chew his salad quietly. Sunny looked down at his sandwich awkwardly, looking up once more to look for Aubrey. She sat at a different table, surrounded by the Hooligans who were conversing loudly, glancing at Aubrey every few seconds, before going back to their conversations. Aubrey sat there quietly, looking around the lunch hall when she met Sunny's eyes. 
She looked away and began to whisper something to Kim. Basil looked over at Sunny, and followed his eyes to Aubrey. A pained look came over Basil's face, and he got up, threw what was left of his salad in the bin, and walked off. Sunny stared after him, and looked back down at his sandwich. It didn't seem as appetizing anymore, and so he left as well.
The rest of the day slogged on, and finally, Sunny could leave. He walked back home, feeling a tiny bit happier than he was before. He walked into his house, and looked out into the backyard. The treehouse wood was stained red, a small reminder of what had happened before. Sunny  looked for the keys to Kel's house, which were given to him by Kel's parents, who couldn't bear to stay in a town as cursed as this, and had moved in with Hero to "watch over him."
Sunny found the keys in his jacket pocket, and immediately made his way to Kel's house. He stood on the porch and pushed the key into the lock, and ran inside. Sunny felt his heart flutter as he made his way to Kel's room. Sunny fell onto Kel's bed, pulling the orange sheets over his body. It smells like Kel. Sunny thought, as he drifted off into a mock embrace of his making.
