Ava POV
I stood there,
Broken, shattered, and helpless.
My heart screamed not to believe what I was seeing and that everything was just a bad dream, which would vanish, but my eyes were proof that whatever was happening was not a dream. The room was lit with beautiful fairy lights, the scent of the exotic candles filled in its air. Everything in my surroundings was pleasant except for the people in front of my eyes.
Today, it was exactly a week later when I realized my feelings about Shawn and was all prepared to confess him. Lauren, Noah, and even Mike had helped decorate this room. I had done my level best in everything to make the proposal the perfect one, but I had not chosen the correct guy for it.
It was late evening when I was dressed up in my favorite dress. My stepmother had helped get ready so that I could look the prettiest on my special day, but when I reached the hotel, the scene in front of me felt as if someone had crushed down all my dreams and had pushed me off a cliff.

Ava
Hey Shawn, Ava this side. Shawn, can you please come to Royal Midtown at 7 o'clock today evening. Room Number 720.
Shawn
Hey, sweetheart. Royal Midtown? Why? Is anything urgent??
Ava
No no, nothing to worry about.
I just have to tell you something.
Please don't ditch me today.
Shawn
Come on Sweetheart, I wouldn't dare to ditch my dream lady.
Ava
☺️
Okay see you.
She kept her phone aside and got ready. She was all dressed up and was twirling in front of the mirror, checking herself when Nancy entered her room. Ava turned around and looking at Nacy she spoke,
Ava: Nancy Ma'am, how am I looking?
Nancy: You look beautiful dear.
Ava smiled at and taking a long breath she spoke,
Ava: Actually, I am going to propose the love of my life tonight, so I want to look special today.
Nancy was surprised as Ava shared such an intimate news of her life with her without hesitating. Nancy heart was filled with warmth and hope, that someday her daughter might accept her when the whole truth would uncover. Nancy shrugged off her thoughts and spoke,
" sure my dear. Come let me style your hair. You are so pretty that even without effort, you look the most beautiful in every room you stand."
Ava smiled at Nancy at sat down on the stool as Nancy started doing her hair. Within a few moments, Ava was all ready. She once again twirled in front of the mirror and seeing herself she was satisfied. She turned around and wrapped her arms around Nancy's neck hugging her tight. Nancy was taken aback my the hug and was too stunned to react to it.
It took her a few moments to adjust to the feeling and she hugged back back with her shivering hands and closed her eyes praying to the universe to protect her daughter from everything.  Ava felt Nancy's tight and strong arms around herself as if she wanted to hide away from the world. After a good minutes, Av  broke the hug and waving a good bye she left for the hotel.
