Time to Move Out

I am now five years old, and I am in the mid orange core level, which was a huge thing for me, I got there about two or three weeks ago. I was so excited when I did, and Monica was happy as well. It's rare for certain mages to get out of red, and I am already halfway through orange at the age of five.

I've gotten stronger, faster, my training is finally picking up its pace in making me actually able to fight. I wasn't sparring before, and over the past couple of months I have been, and it's been helping, Monica even thinks in a year or two that I would be able to rival her at her full strength.

I was moving out today, I was moving to the Wykes's mansion, the one where the main house members live. I was put here in this mansion for my safety before, but now that I am older, I assumed that they believe it is okay for me to leave.

I was okay with it as well, I knew I could protect myself now, I could protect Lucas, I don't have much experience in a fight, but I could still deal damage. I was strong, I was in mid orange core, and I have been training for three to four years now, I could handle myself in certain fights, it really depends.

"I am going to miss you." Emily said as she brushed off my maid outfit, it was a nicer one than I usually wore, they said I needed to change into it before leaving for the new house. "Remember to stay strong, and do what you are told, it's the only way, Lura, it's only way to make sure you stay safe."

"I know." I answered, hugging her as we stood in the slave basement, I was happy to be leaving, I only wished she was coming with me. "I am going to miss you as well, Emily, I wish you could come with, but I understand you have work to do here."

"I wish I could come as well, but you are right, I have things to do here, and you have things to do there." She told me with a smile as she stood up straight after bending down to hug me. "You are a brilliant girl, Lura, and I enjoyed our time together, now go, I'll see you again."

"Bye." I said with a smile as I stepped into the hall and made my way out of the slave quarters up into the main ones, going towards the entrance where I was told to meet Monica at. She was the one who was riding with me to the new mansion while we were being escorted by guards.

It must be weird though to think about, I was a maid, but I was about to be in a carriage guarded by soldiers. I guess it isn't weird, they look at me as an investment, I am nothing but property, property that they don't want damaged, at least not yet.

Monica smiled when she saw me coming her way in the new outfit, but it's also because she's never seen me in a maid outfit before. I usually am in my armor for training, all that is packed up and ready to go in the carriage, other slaves actually brought that up for me.

"You look lovely." She told me, and I smiled, but didn't speak, knowing that I was in her presence, and I wasn't supposed to. "Come on, they are waiting for us." I followed her out the doors of the mansion, hitting the outside world for the first time in the two years I've been here.

I haven't stepped outside like this in a while, and feeling the air, seeing the sun, it made me happy, it brought joy into my heart, seeing the city once again, it was far away, we lived on the outskirts but still, I could still here Etistin, the large city that it is.

We got to the carriage outside the mansion and Monica stepped up first as the guard opened the door for us. There were four of them, I could sense one was a mage, which was saying a lot since there are so little of them.

It was actually something I wasn't able to do before, sense other mages, but then again I have gotten extremely strong over the past couple of years. My core has grown so much, and that is why I am able to sense things now that I couldn't before.
