________________________________________________________________________
The next morning, outside the Sharma house
Dhairya stood casually leaning against his bike, his sharp gaze wandering as he waited for Roohani.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Simran stepping out of her house and walking toward him. She stopped right in front of him, her usual calm demeanor in place.
"Kabir kaha hai?" he asked without much thought.
"Apni Gulabo ke upar aaj kuch zyada hi pyar aa raha hai use." she replied, a teasing smile tugging at her lips. Dhairya couldn't help but chuckle at the remark.
"Their weird obsession with naming their favorite things," he muttered, shaking his head in amused disbelief.
Just then, Kabir arrived, his bike screeching to a halt. Without greeting anyone, he hopped off and bent to examine his bike with exaggerated concern.
"Didi, Bhaiya, aaj meri Gulabo thodi udaas nahi lag rahi? Dekho na, kaise phiki-phiki lag rahi hai," he lamented, his expression bordering on heartbreak as he stared at the bike.
Roohani arrived moments later, catching Kabir's dramatic monologue. She walked over and stood beside him, her curious eyes flickering to the bike.
Simran and Dhairya exchanged a glance and shook their heads in sync, silently amused by Kabir's antics.
"Lag rahi hai na?" Kabir asked Roohani eagerly.
Roohani nodded, playing along. "Haan yaar, tune aaj Fair and Lovely nahi lagaya kya ispe?" she said innocently, trying to stifle a smile.
Kabir shot her a sharp glare. "Gulabo ko lekar mazak nahi!" he snapped, his tone dead serious, which only made Roohani burst into giggles.
Simran and Dhairya sighed in unison at their playful bickering.
"Tum dono ka ho gaya ho toh chalein." Dhairya asked, his voice laced with exasperation but a hint of fondness.
"You guys go," Roohani said with a cheerful smile.
