I sighed as I fidgeted with the pencil in my hand, staring at me sketchbook.
It was a few hours after lunch, and I'd gone completely out of headspace. Alex and Caleb both had some pack related issues to sort out, leaving just me a Sebastian, who also had some work to do. After checking, I was big and telling me to call if I needed anything he had gone to his room to work at his desk.
I had sat down at the window with my sketchbook to try and draw something, but I'd done so much drawing in the last couple of days. Before, I'd take any second of drawing I could get. It was my only escape, but now...
I didn't really have anything I needed to escape from. I still loved drawing, but I felt like I'd drawn everything I could see or think of five times over. I was bored.
I tried flipping through the TV channels, but that was no help. I would have tried to help around the apartment, but it was already spotless.
So, in the end, I'd sat back at the window, staring at a blank page.
I didn't even realise when the front door opened.
"Everything alright, Lucas? If you stare much harder, you'll burn a page through your book."
I looked up at Caleb with a strained smile.
"I'm bored." I confessed.
"I'm not surprised. There's only so many times you can draw the same thing." He rested a hand on my shoulder.
"Why don't you come help me make dinner, switch things up?" He offered
I agreed, and not long later, we were in the kitchen preparing food. Our initial banter had settled into a comfortable silence as I cut vegetables, and Caleb prepared the meat to put in the oven. Still, a question that had bothered me for a while came to my mind.
"Caleb?" I asked tentatively
"Yes, sweetheart?"
The nickname brought a feeling of warmth to me like they often did, but I shook off the feeling and focused.
"Y'know how Alex said were all part of the pack..." Caleb hummed in acknowledgement, encouraging me on. "I.. I don't get what makes me part of the pack. I mean, Bas is a wolf and joins in on the runs, and you're not a wolf, but you're the Luna. But I'm not anything..."
Caleb walked towards me, taking the knife from my hand before turning me to face him and embracing me.
"First of all, you." He looked deeply into my eyes. "Are everything to us. You're our mate, and without you, we wouldn't be whole. And in regards to the pack, the pack is like family, and you're a part of our family, which makes you part of the pack, but I do get what you mean. Do you want to be more involved with the pack?"
I think about it for a minute before nodding.
"I want to feel useful."
Caleb hugs me close again "baby you do so much for us just by being here, but if that's what you want we can talk to Alex about it later and see what we can come up with."
"Thank you." I reply, hugging him back.

After dinner, I was wiping down the table whilst Alex and Caleb were sorting the dishes, and Sebastian swept the floor.
"Alexander?" Caleb called as he finished loading the dishwasher.
"Yes, my love?" He asked as he put away clean ones from the last load.
"Me and Lucas were talking earlier." He started. "And we were wondering if there was anything he could do to be more involved with the pack."
I struggled not to squirm as I felt the attention in the room shifting to me.
Alexander thought for a second, "Well, Jacob and Elle are expecting again, I know he's been wanting to cut down his workload to focus on the pups, and I know how much you dislike some of the finer details of Luna work so I've been thinking of getting you some extra help... You could give it a go if you want, Lucas? I'm not a fan of the hiring process for that kind of thing anyway."
I nodded eagerly, excited to have something else to do beside draw and hang around the apartment.
"There it is then, we won't need anyone for that for a few weeks, so for now, it might be worth shadowing Caleb and Jacob a bit and I'll find you some books that will help you catch up on pack dynamics.
Alex explains a bit more about what the job would involve. Things like helping to organise events, dealing with some of the smaller issues from pack members, and possibly organising communications with other packs.
It wasn't something I'd done before, but I was excited at the chance to contribute more to the pack.
