The trip back to the hospital is mostly silent. I ruminate in my thoughts, wishing I could feel even an ounce of dread for the fight to come. But the emotion evades me completely—not because I don't want to help defeat Zelena, but because now the pressure and stress are off my shoulders. Killian and I arrive back at the hospital to find Emma, David, and Regina all arguing loudly in the hallways.
"What's going on?" I ask, breathless after running through the halls.
"What happened? Did you find Zelena?" David asks me with wide eyes.
"I did," I say with a wince. "But I couldn't stop her." He closes his eyes, and I worry my lip between my teeth. If he's out here instead of with his wife, things must have gone horribly wrong.
"She took my brother," Emma says with a fearful expression. I feel my stomach roll, the consequences of what I had done finally catching up to me.
"Because I failed," I whisper. Killian grabs my hand and squeezes it tightly.
"We're all still here, so you haven't failed just yet," he reminds me. He's right. I spent my whole life without magic; there has to be another way.
"Hook's right, come on," Emma says, going to walk past me. I take a step back, putting my hand out to stop her.
"No, wait," I say. I finally look over at Emma with an apologetic look. "Zelena took my magic as well."
"How the hell did that happen?" Regina finally chimes in. I shake my head.
"It doesn't matter how, because we need to find another way to stop her now," I say, self-assured. "I still have my sword, so I can deal with Rumpelstiltskin, keep him off you, but Zelena can only be defeated with light magic."
"Well, there's no one else in Storybrooke with light magic," Regina snaps, throwing her hands in the air. Henry suddenly looks up at his mom with a grin.
"That's not true," he says. "You can do it. Zelena only beat you because you were using dark magic against her." I raise a brow, considering his words. I know things are dire when I start taking the advice of a twelve-year-old seriously.
"Well, that's all I have," Regina says in a defeated tone. I gasp lightly under my breath at her words.
"No, it's not," I say. She looks over at me as though I've just grown another head. "You broke the curse with true love's kiss. That's light magic, right?" I ask, looking over at David and Emma, who look at each other hopefully.
"But—"
"I believe in you, Mom," Henry cuts off Regina's self-doubt. She looks down at her son with a soft smile, having wanted nothing more than to hear those words from her son's mouth. "Once upon a time you were a villain, but now? Now you're a hero."
