Mina wandered through the bustling hallways, her heart racing, unsure of her feelings as she watched her classmates corner Chaeyoung. The bullying was relentless, a cruel form of sport that entangled everyone in its web, yet Mina felt the tug of guilt, the ache of complicity.

"Look at the lesbo!" one of her classmates shouted, and laughter erupted around her. Mina's stomach twisted as she turned to walk away, trying to drown out the mocking words. Yet, the laughter lingered, haunting her as she dashed into the restroom, ensuring she was alone.

In the mirror, Mina confronted her reflection, the conflicted girl staring back with fear painted on her face. "What would they think of me?" she whispered, the thought of being associated with Chaeyoung fueling her anxiety.

Meanwhile, Chaeyoung stood frozen, her bravado shaken. She had grown accustomed to the taunts, but today, something stung deeper. Perhaps it was the fleeting shadow of Mina in the crowd that felt heavier than usual. Their eyes had met earlier, charged with something unspoken, something dangerous. Chaeyoung wished desperately for an ally, someone who could see past the masks everyone wore.

Yet, with everyone against her, Chaeyoung fortified herself. She had to be her own defender, and today’s humiliation wouldn’t be her end.
