And I feel like my castle's crumbling down And I watch all my bridges burn to the ground
And you don't want to know me,
I will just let you down.

“Wish you two a great flight.”

The flight attendant greeted us as we entered the Jet. My Dupatta wasn’t tied to his anymore but ironically enough, my entire life was tied to him with an invisible string.

I still couldn’t believe that I got married to Raahil. I hate myself for letting him get dragged into my already complicated life.

After we settled on our seats, I closed my eyes. The second I did, the moment where he slid his ring into mine, flash in my mind. That was the moment where I became his wife, even before he put sindoor on my hairline.

Regardless of everything, my foremost priority was him. He deserved more than a switcheroo wedding and a basket case for a wife and I would make sure that he didn’t get any deeper in the mess than he already was. Yash was an idiot but at least I wasn’t worried about him hurting him.

Oh yeah? Was that before or after he would have molested you?

Okay, so Raahil might have actually saved me like a knight but I didn’t know where to go from there. Do we stay married? Do we pretend to stay married?

Oh my God.

I could feel my breath getting shallow and my palms sweating.

I looked over to where he was sitting. The plane had recliners lined up on each side and all the flight attendants had left us alone. So it was just the two of us.

He must be pretty tired considering he was out like a light the moment we sat. His hair was disheveled yet it somehow managed to fall perfectly making him look like a freaking model even while he was asleep.

He should have been in front of the camera, not behind it.

When I looked down at his face again, his eyes were open.

Holy shit. Not again!

Why did I always end in this position?

“Hey, Are you okay? Do you need anything?” he asked, seeming worried.

Am I that obvious? I thought I had mastered the art of freaking out internally, apparently not.

“Yeah, I’m f-fine. I’m sorry if I woke you up. Do-”

“Niyati,”

“Yeah?”

“It’s okay to freak out. You have every right. Just try to get some rest. We’ll talk once we reach home. Okay?”

I didn’t know if it was his calming tone or calming words but it put my mind to ease.

“Okay.” I breathed out and leaned back, shutting my eyes.
