Chapter Twenty-One
James
Tonight has been incredible. I really think I've been doing a good job at making moves, I put my arm around her, talked to her, and even kissed her. And I'm sitting next to her now, only a few centimeters away. We almost immediately take off and I'm excited. What's next? I know we won't just go right out and have sex on our wedding night like everyone else does, but I can't wait to wake up with her pressed against me. I've been craving that feeling ever since I got the first taste. Wait, what if she doesn't want to share a bed with me again? What if she doesn't even want to share a room? Shit, I didn't think this through. On one hand, I could be a gentleman. But that could backfire because then I might not get to sleep next to her. On the other hand, I could say nothing. That could backfire because she really might not want to sleep next to me and she would be uncomfortable. I don't want that. If she was uncomfortable I'm not even sure she would tell me. She's kind of quiet when it comes to her own needs and feelings. Ugh, I have to be the gentleman.
"Did you have fun tonight?" She asks. I'm a little taken aback by how she was the one to initiate the conversation.
"For sure. I got to hang out with you and have a party." She blushes slightly.
"Party's are great."
"And so are you." I slide a little closer. She's shown me she likes to talk, so let's talk. "What was your favorite part?"
"Um, the dancing. I like to dance."
"You are a good dancer."
"Thanks. What was your favorite part?" I want to say kissing her. That's the only true answer. Instead, I say part of the truth.
"I really liked that cake." Now she's really blushing. Hard.
"The cake was good. I didn't get to finish mine though."
"You snooze you loose. Do you want to know a secret?"
"What?"
"It tasted better when I licked it from your lips."
"James!"
"What? It's true." I can't help laughing at the look on her face. I love seeing her flustered.
"We are on the verge of landing." The coachman says.
We land and I help her out of the coach.
"Follow me." I say.
"Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise." I lead her into the Zumaria palace and through the halls. We run through the doors. It's going great, until I get lost. "Wait where's the kitchen?"
"Why are we going to the kitchen?"
"Just tell me where it is."
"Up the second staircase and all the way to the left."
"Right." We make our way in the right direction for my surprise. I open up the door for her and look around.
"Ok, we need flour, eggs, sugar, butter, milk, and chocolate chips."
"Alright then." She ducks into another section of the kitchen and comes back with my requested ingredients.
"Great, now where can I find a bowl and a spoon."
"Right up there." She points to a cabinet above my head. "And here's a spoon."
"Perfect."
"What are you making?"
"Well, since you didn't get to finish your cake I thought I'd make you some cookies."
"Yum."
"They're gonna be great."
