CHRIS STURNIOLO:
THE TRIPLET SPENT ALL HIS free time drinking pepsi at the table in the kitchen and rereading the lyrics of Gold rush in the notebook, noticing how she added more pressure on other lyrics rather than none. How she spelt course incorrectly. All the crossed out words. The funky stars.
Matt walked in to get water when he eyed the notebook. That's what he forgot. He had been under so much anxiety the past few days that he had completely forgotten the one thing Ameila had requested him to do. "What's that?"
Chris jumped in fear like a little kid getting caught up past his bedtime. He was gonna lie, but then he realized there was no point of lying to Matt. Matt would always know the truth. So, the boy sighed in defeat, handing Matt the trophy of victory before speaking. "I found Ameila's notebook and I know I probably shouldn't be reading it but....I can't stop. I found this...song. called Gold Rush and..just here" he slid it to Matt. "Read it"
Matt sighed. He knew this was a violation of privacy. But he grabbed the notebook and started reading the lyrics, his fingers brushing over the smooth pages and the ridges from the pressure of the pen she added. This...was a love song. Clearly directed to one of the triplets, most definitely Chris. Ameila had never had a thing for Matt, and Matt had never had a thing for Ameila. Matt viewed Ameila has a little sister in a sorta werid way.
He had helped her months after the breakup. He wished he was there when it first happened. But she never called or texted him. It was as if she had left the surface of the earth.
Matt kept most of her feeling hidden. She talked about it through music, it was her way to cope. Her way to control the emotions and explain them in a way words cannot. "It's a song.",
"It's a love song." Matt could tense the stress. Whenever Chris was stressed, it was like a disease that spread onto everyone. Just like his humor, it spread. Chris had a way of spreading his emotions onto people with just his presence. It was a true power that Matt truly found fascinating about his brother.
"I know..." Matt sighed.
"What do you mean you know? Wait....is this song for you?" Chris suddenly frowned, the disappointment hitting him faster than a car driving over a dead squirrel.
Matt wanted to laugh at the accusation. They never felt more than friends. They were like siblings. The thought of being with Ameila made him want to puke but it was like being with his sibling. "God, no. It's clearly for you"
"But everyone wants you too" He said to the lyric that said 'everyone wants you, everyone wants to know what it would be like to love you' Chris said.
Matt grabbed a bottle of water. "It's not for me. Ameila is like my sister."
"But maybe she doesn't see you that way"
"Chris, your acting like a blind person. This song is clearly directed toward you. Ameila has had a crush on you for years. Why do you think she broke up with Louis? Why do you think Louis hated you so much? Because he knew you guys would end up together. Everyone sees it. But you two." Matt said, finally letting his true thoughts come out. "And one of you guys need to say how you feel. I'm sick of watching you guys running around like chickens with their heads cut off" Matt went upstairs and went to his bedroom.
Chris sighed. He went to Nick's bedroom. He was on his phone scrolling on tiktok. "These fans are so annoying. They don't give a shit about Ameila. Look at this" He flipped his phone over to show Chris.
A girl who looked in her early twenties was speaking. "I think the gun shooting was planned. Now! Before you scroll just listen. Ameila possibly felt jealous of Olivia because she wasn't getting as much recognition. And told her coworker to shoot her because people would be talking about it. Why else would he shoot her stomach and not her head? I personally think he shouldn't have to pay for Ameila's actions." Nick scoffed and started commenting.
